Discaroo is awesome!!!!
I've done 10+ trades in under a month with great results.
My only problem is nobody wants my Xcaliber!!!! What's up with that??

Also, scamming is pretty rare on the site. We've had less than 10 last year that I know of and many of those were by two young guys working together. This kind of stuff is mail fraud so if there's a pattern we do have some recourse which is nice.

thanks for joining so quick guys. This will be a good place to talk about the site I think. Bogeyman is one of the early guys to the site and he has good tips for staying out of the "got screwed" category.

Feedback and photos, in that order, are the way to stay safe. If you still have doubts ask that they provide a photo that includes a little piece of paper with their username written on it. This will ensure they aren't just lifting a rare Roc photo off the web and calling it their own.

Once you get established (5 or so feedback) you should be bullet proof because you then have some authority and I would recommend if someone with low or no feedback wants to trade that you let them know you won't be shipping until you've received.

This is also another benefit of the new buy/sell option using Discaroo Dollars. As long as you are the seller you don't have to worry about getting screwed because they have to pay you before anything happens. It's a guaranteed transaction from the seller's point of view.

photos may be a clue, but a photo can look good and not show nics etc. on the other hand no photo does not mean it's a bad trade or trader.

I use the site to get my dyed discs out to people. I sold them for awhile then found the site and have traded some. I have two positive comments but those who know me or have dealt with me, know I wont screw them over. I dont try and profit from the site, just share the disc golf love and Kharma. There is always the risk of not getting your item but bad kharma will find that person and thats fair enough for me.

The best thing to do is LOOK at the "feedback", if you've got a discaroo'er with multi-positive feedback, there's probably not much worry in your transactions. If you trade with someone with no or bad feedback, your taking a bit of risk. I've done 20+ trades and only once was the trader a PIA to deal with and that was due to taking a loooooooong time to get his disc in the mail to me.

The other thing, if you can, trade for the one's that have "PHOTO's", at least you have a decent idea what your getting that way!! For me I'd say 75% of the trades were better than discribed, 20% were as described and 5% were a bit worse than described. Still only "1 trade" was what I would call, grossly worse than described. Also don't worry about "contacting" the trader via E-mail and asking for a photo or a "exact description" of the condition of the disc. It's worked well for me, give it a few tries and see. YMMV

i'm excited about the idea of this.i've tried two trades. only one is complete so far and turned out with mixed results.
