I have a question. I have a green CE leopard that i found while i was disc diving. It has no ink, but it has a few scuffs on it. I am not sure how to tell what run it is. So my questions are, how do i determine the run and how much do you think this disc is worth. I have a pic up on discaroo if you would like to look at it. let me know what you think! thanks!!

Also, I am looking into why the site is so slow right now.

For those waiting for discs from cantputtrob, I emailed him yesterday and he contacted me letting me know that he has sent all the discs, albeit a bit later than he would have liked. If you still haven't received them in a week or so post another comment on here.

I had one guy who gave me an old address for which the forwarding had expired, and then complained he didn't get the disc. It eventually came back to me as "return to sender" and I got it straightened out. Since then I have used delivery confirmation on every trade, costs $0.75 but worth it for the tracking, they can check for themselves.

I second the big thanks to Steve! Local Spokane boy makes good! You're doing a great job and a great service for the DG community. Seven of the 18 discs in my current bag are from Discaroo trades.

A couple notes: First I have to say I love using Discaroo. I have had all positive trades the year I have been trading. I do see that my idea of an EXCELLENT disc is a weeeee bit different than others. I am big on having as big a description as possible when I list. Honesty is also a key factor so I tend to under estimate my disc condition so I don't disappoint. I have not had any problems with scammers (cross my fingers) YET.
Second comment has to do with how slow the site is processing. Making it difficult to keep my time for adding discs to a minimum. Does the site require a larger server? I am not a computer guy so I have no idea.
Steve, thanks for your hard work on making discaroo better all the time. I don't know how you do it! I have a hard enough time trying to run my local mini tourney 1 day a week.

Hey everybody. I have to agree with silverback on the great site comment. I stumbled upon it right before the holidays and cant think of what i did without it. Its a great place for trading and finding new discs. Unfortunately, theres always gonna be liars and backstabbers. I an kind of shocked but not totally surprised by the actions of CantPuttRob. I have traded with him in the past, and have not had a problem. Oh well I guess. Im down for any way to make the site better for the parties at hand. I hope that discaroo keeps up the great work.

still a great site. I got my fisrt neagtive the other day and it was a total accident on my fault, In a picture of a dyed disc, you could not see a dye run and the guy thought I did that on purpose. Hell i still traded him a brnad new star for a beat in star with no dye or stamp at all. But hey, it was my bad so I'm cool with that. I love the site, the discaroo dollars and everything. I think people will be shady no matter what! I also think there would be ways to beat the "escrow" system. You and a buddy but or trade yuor own discs to boost your comments to the positve side and wham, a shady trader. I figure it's a disc, yeah I may have spent a lot of time on the dye, and if someone screws me, well, karma will get them. Not that big of a deal. Honest and respect are key items in my life and hope I can help encourage that in others. Keep up the cool trades and an awesome site!!!

Ray,

Can you send me an email at steve at discaroo dot com so I can correspond privately about some of the details of your conversation?

One more thing, regarding people not responding to requests. It is lame and has been an even larger problem in the past. I've done two things to try to cut down on the "no answer" requests.

1. If a user hasn't logged in for 6 months their account is paused and all their discs are removed from the active listings. This does a little to keep only the active trader's discs showing up.
2. Discaroo Dollars. I know some people are trading purists and that's fine but Discaroo Dollars do remove the need to request anything, you just buy it.

Avenger Ray: I have to disagree with your theory on Discaroo Dollars. I don't think they entice anyone to be dishonest anymore than if they were just trading. It's not "real" cash so all they can get with it is another disc so essentially it's the same as ripping someone off in a trade right? I think the possibility of free discs combined with a shady character works the same whether they are trading or using Discaroo money.

What do you guys think about an escrow system for new traders? For example, if a trader has less than 3 positive trades (assuming no negative feedback) when they sell a disc the money would not be deposited in their account until the purchaser confirms receipt of the disc.
