i enjoyed worlds as a TD of one of the courses, hope to bring worlds back to MI in the future (sooner rather then later)

When running 'club' items:

1 you will never get the respect you deserve from everyone

and

2 do what you think is best regardless.

And if someone were to put up and instead 'shut up!' Would suffice for all the whiners who want everything handed to them.

LOL after a year and a half of running a club i have been unseated and sort of relieved what a stressful past year. For anyone that thinks people get rich at running a club feel free to see just how rich you get. You will soon find out that you wish you where getting rich for all your hard work and BS you will be subject to. Instead of complaining why dont you pat the people that run club on the back and feel lucky that its not you, maybe try to lend a hand.

What happens when you start doing more than others? They want to take over and be the center of attention, when in fact they could have started the stuff their self. i call this the piranha virus!!! since its the same type of feeding. What do you do? Run like hell LOL or hold your ground, weigh your options and speak wisely

Duh, sounds typical...Ive learned so far to round up my people schedules and any other details with the quickness sooner you have your game plan the better things flow then it just turns into follow up...Some times being democratic is not the quickest way and turns into a drawn out process. we all have lives and quality use of spare time is key.

I am the new Event Coordinator for the ACDGC (Wichita, KS). I was excited about my new position, until I realized that I am now burdened with making our local events successful. At our last meeting, it was determined that we need a TD for our next tournament. So I volunteered; hopefully I won't regret it. I've taken my PDGA Officials Test and am awaiting the results.

In the meantime, I'm realizing how difficult it is to get volunteers. We have a clinic coming up in a few weeks to introduce disc golf at a community festival. Apparently this was very poorly done last year, a bad reflection on our club. This year, there's still no game plan and no one is stepping up to help. Looks like its up to me. Wish me luck!

We have a new club forming in our area. There was already an existing club here in Eugene but thought there was room for more. We are going to focus on Course Development, Recreational Growth, and Major Sponsors. The three main factors in my opinion to Disc Golf hitting it big. We must have the venues to play at, the base of players to follow a tour, and the money needed to be a major league tour. What are some other ideas for a new club to focus on out there?

I have formed a new club here in Western Australia. It was hard work but it is starting to pay of i started playing about 3 years ago after finding some discs in my brothers old draws. It started with 2 of us playing once a week then 3 years went by we are a club with 20 members our first paying tournament comming up and looks like we will also be getting a new course in the ground. It has been hard work but i have had good people around me so it has made it a bit easier cant wait to see the future of the sport here.
