Comment by mr ed on May 20, 2011 at 6:28pm Hey,that disc looks familiar...oh,I now have it;>} thanks Vic dd.
Check with Tim Willis next weekend,if time permits. They have a mini with picture of founding memeber of ssp.
My ultimate disc will be that of my father. He had passed away July of 2010. I would love to have a stencil made and place his picture on a disc so that where ever I go, I'll have my father there with me.
I am getting all the experience that I can on other discs before I attempt to do my father's disc.
David,
What is Free spin?
Here is my second attempt at dyeing.
First. I used a Innova Star Vulcan.
Then I easily erased the stamp with my strong acetone. No etching like the Ching.
Next I took a black and white picture of "Spock"
And turned it into a Stencil on contact paper.
Then I placed the dye upon the disc.
I want the dye job to be really dark, so I am gonna leave it on all night. I hope that this works. I'll post the results some time tomorrow (Saturday the 21st of May 2011, The "Day of Rapture".
Comment by david k. reisner on May 20, 2011 at 1:56pm i have always wanted to die a green mini with free spin free , like the old wheel of fortune . now they have free play and no mini disc . its just not right .
First Disc was a Ching JuJu putter.
After using acetone, I removed the stamp. But this disc was etched by the company.
Next I used contact paper and cut out the "Tardis Design"
I attempted to dye the disc several times but the disc did not take.
Since the dyes did not take I ended up spray painting it blue.
I was informed after the fact that spray painting a disc is not legal during tournaments, but here is the final product.
Since the Ching disc did nto do so well, My next Disc will be a "Vulcan" Star plastic, white. And of course I will use "SPOCK" as the dye. I'll post my process when I am done.
