The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

So, did anyone else blink and miss the registration for Eugene Celebration this year? I got online once I recieved an e-mail from rebecca that it opened, and it wasn't available for reg yet, waited a day, and bam... full... ??? Why is this so stupid? Anyone elses thoughts? Maybe we should raise the cost of the tourney, help the club or TD generate some revenue... and slow the reg down, so not just techies who camp on the computer and press F5 refresh F5 refresh F5 refresh get in.. I work my face off and really look forward to this venue.. and it is frustrating how it ends up. I would pay $200 to get in.. what do other people think?

have you called rebecca tom? (or at least emailed her?) judging by the number of people listed on pdga.com the EC is far from full. contact her when you can (ie today) and get the full scoop...
Hey Tom. I just finished registering. It's still open. I think you may have clicked on the 2008 Celebration and not the 2009. 2008 is (or was) full. This year's event is still taking registrations. So nothing is "stupid" except....well...
BTW Tom...I did that myself. After reading your post, I jumped online to register and clicked on what I thought was the Eugene Celebration registration link on the PDGA online registration page. But I didn't see that they had a bunch of events listed from 2008. So when that link came up there was a red note on the page saying registration was closed. I thought the tournament was filled. Then I saw the dates were from 2008 and went back and clicked on the 2009 Eugene Celebration link and had no problem registering. I hope that was all the problem you had too.
I cut down a tree today, but not on the course.
chilled drink headfreeze, sweat, oil n sawdust
prez signed me up, tourney to play well
locked out again, gonna make me some keys
now a nice summer evening, same to you please
Maybe if you grew the mullet back you could get preferential treatment!!!!!
nice poem,

Here's mine...
Alarm sounds early,
Five am I have no brains
mad about closed tourney from 08
post without pause to think
I look like a retard and my breath stink
so brush my teeth and phone ring..
I get into EC and start to sing.
I feel dumb
Go to work happy.
I just want every golfer out there reading to throw a disc at me, Its like the story of samson and delilah.. only when my mullet was cut, instead of losing my strength, I lost my trusty redneck brainpower. now I am wothout cunning witts, and sharp intuition, and left only with mulish, obdurate, opinionated, opinionative, persistent, pertinacious, perverse, pigheaded, recalcitrant, refractory, relentless, strong-minded, tenacious, unalterable, unflinching, unmanageable, unyielding, willful contrary, contumacious, defiant, disaffected, disobedient, disorderly, dissentious, factious, fractious, insurgent, intractable, mutinous, naughty, perverse, recalcitrant, refractory, riotous, seditious, treacherous, turbulent, uncompliant, uncomplying, undisciplined, ungovernable, and unruly behavior for which there is no excuse.

Forgive my insolence.
i just lol'd.
Tom: You said that you engaged in "unruly behavior for which there is no excuse."

That's BS. There's ALWAYS an excuse. Just keep digging. You can download excuses off the internet or I can loan you some of mine (I always keep a bin full of unused excuses handy, and they do come in handy).
"I would pay $200 to get in."

I'd like to extend a big THANK YOU to Tom Chrestman for generously sponsoring three tee signs at the 2009 Eugene Celebration. With the current economic climate as it is and having become a new homeowner I won't be able to sponsor the tournament this year and I think it is great that Tom is stepping in to pick up the slack.

Who says disc golfers are greedy??!!
oh boy.. I just dug a crater
wowza, I was freaked out there for a min, I better register asap :-)
