I don't mind working like a dog, and I know that the other Funkytown members don't either, I know I come home ten pounds lighter every Sunday but we need your help!!!
This park could be finished alot faster with some more help, it's time to put up or shut up, maybe you're thinking...I don't have any power tools, we do and you can use them if you just show up to help
You don't have to be there every Sunday but with the work crew dwindling, it's going to take alot longer for this 36 holes to become a reality.
Ok, I'll put up the soapbox, we have roughed out ten holes and have plenty more to go, come out anytime and take a look, it's going to be a really nice course when it's done.

I'm going to throw an offer out for a matching sponsor.

We need to rent a Bobcat for some heavier work to be done, and the cost for one day rental will be 400.00. We currently have a pledge of 150.00 which leaves a balance of 250.00 so here's my offer.

I will match 125.00 to cover the remaining cost if someone else will step up and do the same.

This is going to be an awesome course when it's finished so let's see if we can complete it even faster than planned.
Also, there is still some work that needs to be done in the form of final clearing fairways as most of the big trimming is done. If you can lend a hand in any form, please help!!!

money is raised for the bobcat, work will be done this week, and baskets came in and are in storage, sleeves are the next thing to go into the ground, so it's looking good for the end of the year

UPDATE: the anchors are in the ground, the tee signs are in the ground, the cement tee boxes are in the ground, the baskets are currently in storage, all that is left is getting the city of Fort Worth to transfer the funds to IOM, and once that happens, the baskets will be locked into the anchors and play will commence

the Funkytown Flyers will be hosting our 2nd Annual Hangover Classic on Jan 1, 2009 at Gateway but you must be a bag tag possessor to play, if you don't have one, there will be tags for sale as well as the new 2009 tags so come on out

in closing, I have to give a huge amount of credit to two guys I'm glad to call friends, Gilbert Casas and Brandon Melton who without their hard work, dedication and organization, Gateway would not be the newest must play disc golf course in north Texas, so thank you guys for your vision and leadership, can't wait to get started on phase two, the east course at Gateway or the other eighteen whichever you prefer

This Saturday is NOT a work day, it's the 2nd Annual Hangover Classic at Gateway.
Finally, the moment has arrived, we get to put down the tools and pick up the discs and let em fly.
Oh yeah baby!
