Trying to decide if disc golf is product category we should include.  Are you getting what you need from local retailers?  If not, please let us know what you'd like to see.  Thanks!

for what it's worth.. I'd love to support my local retailers, but it's about convenience. the play it again off midway in dallas has one of the best selections I know of in the DFW area, but I order online a lot simply because of price and convenience.
I like the guy who has a shop nearby my home course, but his prices are just too high for me to consider, as sad as that sounds.
I dont mind paying a few dollars more for a local store that is close to me, but if I know I can get the same disc + shipping for several dollars cheaper online.. especially since I tend to buy a few discs at a time....what can I say.
Play It Again on Hulen in Fort Worth, pretty good selection, okay prices too.
So, it sounds like there's no real need for another store to carry golf discs. If anyone disagrees, please let me know. We're starting an alternative store (tye-dies to incense, rock t-shirts to hookahs) and disc golf could be another category, but we can always use the space for something else.

The store model we're using in Des Moines, IA where they have 17 courses serving a population much smaller than Fort Worth. Based on what I'm seeing for clubs and courses (5 in Fort Worth), it doesn't sound like our area has quite the participation they do, either. Would you both agree or am I missing something? Just trying to fully "vet" the category before eliminating it.

Thanks!
hmm. I'm not sure how a comparison would be since I dont know the Des Moines area. I like to think we have a fairly decent and growing size of disc golfers in the DFW area, but there are still a huge number of casual golfers compared to the regulars that play minis and tournaments.
seems to keep growing to me since most courses are always packed on the weekends this time of the year, but I dont know the numbers really or where they all are buying discs compared to where I do.

maybe if you went out to a course or two some weekend and just asked some groups where they get discs for an hour or two it might yield more concrete information ?

I live in GP and play mostly Arlington, GP, cedar hill and some courses to the North a bit. but where is your store in Fort Worth? I might swing by sometime and check it out to see the non disc golf merch you currently carry ?
Thanks for the reply, Eric. Our store isn't open yet - we're just in the business planning and site location processes right now. Am trying to get the product selection figured out because that affects both. Your suggestion of visiting a course is a good one. If there are other members of the Funkytown Club reading this discussion - PLEASE give us your feedback as well.

Thank yoU!
