The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I guess that Geezers says it all. 2 dozen members, and not even one posting until now. It takes me a while longer to get warmed up than it used to, but let's get this thing rolling. Our opportunity to band together to conquer the kids will prove to be motivation enough to... oh, to hell with it, I'm going to take a nap.

hehehe

Thanks, Mark, I'm not sure what Geezers will end up doing in here. One thing, for sure, is to talk about tournaments we plan to compete in, so we can find fields of other old folk.

PDGA board member Peter Shive is using email to coordinate the geezer-aged pro players, and I expect that someone will post updates on that effort in here. In fact, I will, if I can find one of the emails he has already sent.

I will also now start a thread on where people are going to be playing.
Been there done that..Makes since to me if at tourniments they could let us senoir citizens play to gether. They try to make it work. But in most casses i'm still shooting against 40 year olds.In witch there just starting to slow down and i'm already there.
LoL !!!

I'm a computer geek for a trade, and it's taken me longer to figure out what all is here and how to use it than most sites...

Geez - anyone seen a user guide for this place?
Hey at these temperatures it take a lot longer to get warmed up, and as a non pro grand master warmed up is still not very good but from this side of the fence just getting together and making it through all of the rounds with old and new friends is what it is all about. sure I love to compete but having a good time has taken precedence over winning.
I woulda posted sooner but my arthritis has been flarin' up lately in my typin' arm, and I had to kick some kids out of my yard before they put a dent in my Oldsmobile with their tomfoolery.
I'm a young (43) Geezer, but an old golfer. I played my first tourney in 1977, and was burned out by 1988. I returned to the sport in 2001. The biggest reason for sticking with it this time around is having found a few Geezers who allowed me to travel around with them. We don't do many tourneys, but we play almost every weekend. These guys (and I believe most Geezers) stand out because of a simple phillosophy that others could learn from. We ENJOY disc golf as a great activity. Many disc golfers participate without any enjoyment, only as a test of ability. I wish those types of players the best (from a distance), while still believing that having fun is the most important part of any avocation. Birdies are better than Viagra, but just being out on the course getting a mental and physical workout is how to get the ladies interested in the first place.
P.S. I can live with the tomfoolery, it's the shenannigans that put me off my feed.
"We ENJOY disc golf as a great activity"

AMEN!
OUR SHOTS MIGHT NOT BE AS LONG
BUT WE MAKE EVERY SHOT COUNT
AN TAKE MORE PIT STOPS
Another young (42) geezer showing up. I'm sure my blazing speed of play easily qualifies. I don't mean to imitate molasses in January......

I started Frisbee (I used that term on purpose) throwing back in the mid-70's. I was a IFA member. (Who did I get there?) My Wham-O professional model and the World Class discs. Never made any tournaments because I couldn't drive. But then I got my license and lost my mind.

I found disc golf (2002 I think) trying to give my kids something different. Now my 14 year old has a rating 40 points higher than mine. Nothing like having a teenage who knows-it-all and then drills you in the ground. But these are good times....
hey Rod know the feeling my 9yr old
step daughter beats me know lol
where me at?
i's photogenarian, likely.
oh, there YOU are.
