The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
Hello and welcome to ALL. My name is Bryan (TheBfunky1). I was born in Essen, Germany. I was blessed growing up in Germany (until we moved here when I was 7) and learning the language. My dad was the Founder and CEO of a (the First and still largest) Portable Sanitation company in Germany...DIXI. Growing up there one of the things that was big in the 80’s was German American friendship groups/movements and of course almost anything from the states (skateboarding, clothes, catch phrases etc.). I now still speak, read, and write (sort of) German Fluently.
Recently I met a group of interested and dedicated “new” disc golfers from Germany. The sport is taking off all over the world and very much so in Germany. They were a great bunch of guys who came to do the normal Florida Tour things (theme parks etc.) but also to.......PLAY DISC GOLF. They sought out ALL the local courses and hotspots including the shops and underground Glow Doubles...not to mention Catching a glimpse of the Champ and others at the tail end of The Barnett Park Championships 2012. Typically enterprising and of course German.
The goal is to bring people together to directly help grow the sport, opportunities for promotion and expansion of our relationships as disc golfers. If you; are German (living there), German living here, American living in Germany, Live somewhere else where German is spoken, have German in your family background, or just like Germans and Germany...Please Join this group and share a little about yourself. Before long I hope we have network of great folks communicating and likely making new and wonderful things happen for Disc Golf.

Comment by Matt Schenk on March 1, 2012 at 2:18pm My great, great, great grandfather, Gaudens Schencke was born and grew up in Allagen, a small town 5 miles northwest of Warstein. The Warstein brewery employed 70% of the people living in and around Warstein during the early to mid 1800's and it was also the only major brewery in Germany that was not bombed by the allies during WWII. So there is a good chance my ancestors worked at one of the oldest breweries in Germany. No wonder I love the stuff so much! :-)
