Robby made me remember something...regarding Hydrashocks. The guys that own the local indoor gun range and store did a ballistic test of thier own....just about the complete laundry list of PP ammo. They didn't have Gel so they used compacted wet newspaper. When I seen the results....I dumped all my Hydra's down range and switched to Rem. Golden Sabres. They have too be the closest thing to Black Talons on the market today.....very nasty. The Hydra's weren't even close.

I will have to try that. Usually for my nine, I use just regular hollow points. for my 45, good ole' ball ammo. I don't care what they say, a shot with ball out of a 45 and you are going down. My .380 I heard some good things about hydrashocks but had my doubts. I would love to get my hand on some black talons for it if I could find them. When I do, they want an arm and a leg for them.
I agree, anything thru a 45....works!! I got a hold of some Winch. Silver Tip hollows for a song, 10 bucks for 50, they feed great so that's actually what I have in my Kimber. I only picked up the GS's for my nine and 380.

In matches, I shoot good quality ammo...usually just FMJ factory..but not the GS's...that would be way too expensive. Some of the top shooters in my area convinced me to try some Atlanta Arms reloads...so I picked up 1000, all sub sonic 9 in hollow point....I wouldn't normally shoot reloads unless I personally knew the source or reloaded them myself....But I have to say...they are great. I will definitely buy more.

Stay away from the Winch White box except for plincking/ target fun. I seen a ton of issues with that stuff. One time, I had 30 out of 100 in 45 keyhole on me....crazyness.
The only reloads I shoot are Georgia arms and my friend's father. He packs them on the light side and been doing it for years. I was shooting them before I even knew they were reloads. Usually i use Winchester for target shooting, FMJ. My 45 doesn't really like hollow points, so I stick to ball.
I only use Speer Gold Dot ammo in my XD 9mm. Great stopping power. Now my 45's since both have a ramped barrel, the Hornady TAP personal defense ammo at 230 grain is nice. Have even used the Remington Golden Saber rounds at 185 grain, BJHP. just my 2 cents

If you want Black Talons, then get the current Winchester Ranger T-series or SXT ammo.
Nice thanks!
I use Speer Gold Dot, for my Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm compact for personal protection and for home I use Winchester Super X, OO buck, for my Mossberg 18" pump for home protection.
Rem. Golden Sabres for my 45. glaser safety slugs for my 40.1400 fsp.. still got hydros in my 9. we cant forget about ol' trusty winchester superX 00buck for the cruiser.
