46 people showed up at Knotty Pines on Sunday to test their skills on the "New And Improved" course layout. Todd Gillihan put a lot of work into the course over the past year and the work really paid off. The course flowed much better, but still was extremely challenging despite the shortening of the holes. The fresh laid sand t pads were a big plus as well.
The weather was mild in for a mid August day, a big part of the bearable temperature was due to the shaded course. There were 2 aces on hole 16, Chris B. and Allen Mitchell each took home $23 and Brian C. took home $46 from the community CTP on hole 15. With the smaller crowd we were able to get in 2 full rounds of golf and still get on the road home at an early time.
Remember that the next HGT event at Higher Ground in Fuquay Varina is less that 3 weeks away. The land next to Shannon that part of the course is on was recently clear cut for timber. This being said, the course is a little behind schedule in being ready for the upcoming HGT event on August 30th. For those of you interested in helping Shannon get the course whipped into shape give him a call at 919 557 3056. He could really use some extra help running weed eaters, chain saws and mowing grass.
The results from Knotty Pines and the up to date points are attached for your viewing pleasure.
