Sorry about the shortness of notice here, but time has a tendency of slipping up on me recently, so.......here's a word from the Chuckster,(The HGT event at The Groove is this weekend. Jim "FBJ" Costen has put a lot of work over the past few weeks getting his course ready for the upcoming HGT event. For those of you who are not familiar with "FBJ", he ran the HGT for 3 years before I took the reigns. If it was not for FBJ the HGT would probable have faded away, come and show your appreciation by supporting the event at his course this weekend.

As usual, Jim has a fun weekend planned out for those of you with more than one day to spare. He will be doing the "Groove Grown" on Saturday. For those of you who have not participated in a "Groove Grown" take advantage of the experience and have a good time. Camping is welcome and encouraged. For more details contact Jim "FBJ" Costen at 919-418-2528.

The ace was not hit at Ramcat Ridge leaving a $67 carry over.

If you need directions EMAIL me no later than 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening.

See ya there

I hope everyone has a great time and make sure FBJ gets a turn out at the Groove and give him a hug for me. Sorry I'm going to miss it this year, but priorities must be met. Just All Have A Good Time And Toast One For Me.

Just a word from "the Chuckster" and "RiverDawg" ,"Ramcat Ridge is just days away making us all realize that the final stretch of the 09 HGT season has begun. The ace pool is at $0 once again after being nailed 6 times over at Higher Ground. Jamie "RiverDawg" Arnold has put a lot of effort and energy into the course to have it in tip top shape for his annual HGT event.

Keep in mind as you close in on his house that the mile long driveway has been recently re graveled! Please drive slow and careful, the gravel is loose and dangerous right now. Jamie has also created an awesome parking area that is a short walk from the house and will be clearly marked. Please use this area to park to eliminate congestion. IF YOU NEED DIRECTIONS TO RAMCAT RIDGE EMAIL ME NO LATER THAN 6 PM SATURDAY EVENING. PLEASE DO NOT CALL!

Remember, for those of you who played at Borrowed Time, the Yadkin County Challenge is still on! There will be a unique prize put up for each division by the "Big Yadkin 3" for the person who has the best points total from all 3 Yadkin county HGT events.

On another note, there has been a slight change of plans for the "HomeGrown Zone" at the USDGC. There will not be a cook off. Instead we are organizing a Tail Gate Competition. Local Disc Golf Clubs as well as HGT Courses and their grounds crew can compete in the tail gate competition. I will be sending out complete details in the next week or so to help fill in the gray areas.

As for this Sunday, to wrap up what was left out, here is what RiverDawg has to say:

"Hey Chuck. Hope all is well. Looking forward to getting the HGT back on this side of the state this weekend. Spent ALL day long yesterday mowing and weed eating parking areas and fairways. The driveway as a whole is in the best shape it has been in years. Lots of money in gravel and grading on the lower drive this year so just don't get in a hurry, slow and steady as she goes and you can get to the top no matter what you're driving. I'll post signs on a new parking area we'll be able to use this year so crowding should not be quite as much of an issue.

Jim Gilbert is again putting on the feedbag for us this year with BBQ, slaw, baked beans and his own new found specialty baked mac-n-cheese. The baked mac apparently went over very large at the Triad Disc sponsored event at Borrowed Time last Saturday.

I'm working on the division prizes even as we speak.

Hope everyone can make the trip. It's really been beautiful up here the last couple of weeks. You need to see it. Later taters."

Jamie"
Hope everyone will try to make it. Sorry about not attending recent games, but family illness has prevented me from attending. I still though give Chuckster a CTP for everyone to try to win. Shoot'em up and lets have some Aces. Peace

hey out there in Discland, a few words from "The Chuckster",
As most of you already know the HGT event at Knotty Pines, Todd Gillihan's course, is this weekend. Todd has put A LOT of work into making his course much safer for the larger HomeGrown crowds. The course has been expanded by utilizing more of the existing property to reduce crossover drastically. All of the t pads have been re worked and there are benches on almost every hole. Camping is welcome on Saturday and Sunday night and the cement pond is open for those of you who want to take a swim and cool off. With the weather man calling for clear skies and mid-90's we should have a great day for some disc golf. Lunch will not be served at the course this year, but there is plenty of food to choose from about 5 minutes from the course.

Remember, if you need directions EMAIL ME NO LATER THAN 6 PM SATURDAY EVENING.

See ya round

Come One, Come All to The County Course:
Now here's an update from "The Chuckster:"
The HGT event at The Country Course is just a few days away!! The Ace Pool is sitting at $79 and with an expected turnout of over 100 people (Jim Markov would love to see 150) for this weekend, that should have the Ace Pool knocking on $200. Campers are welcome to reside at the CC on Saturday night. I am sure there will be plenty of camping and golf going on through the weekend. I believe that there will be a small amount of food available for sale, but not enough for everyone. The food available will be on a first come first serve basis. If you who want to do your own thing for lunch, there are plenty of places to eat at within 5 to 10 minutes from the course. For those of you with golf carts, this is a cart friendly course. If you have shade canopies, it would be gracious if you could bring them along as well and SET THEM UP in the field to help get some relief from the elements. While it does not look like it is going to be super hot, it should still be in the high 80's to low 90's and relief from the sun would be great.

We will be playing the "Disc Roast 25" for the event. That means 25 holes of golf for the first round and the second round of golf will be determined by turnout and speed of play. I also have some more of the moisture management shirts available for sale this weekend as well as some performance polo shirts.

For those of you needing directions to the Country Course, EMAIL ME NO LATER THAN 6 PM SATURDAY.

See ya there

Here's a update note from The Chuckster:
"We had 79 people show up to the HGT event at Rocky Ford in Franklin county on June 28th. The weather was mild for the end of June, as a matter of fact, I would say it was the most comfortable HGT event that I have ever played at Rocky Ford. Once again David Mansfield did an awesome job reworking his course to accommodate the crowd by increasing the course to 20 holes from the 12 hole layout. For those of you that have not played Rocky Ford, I highly recommend attending the event next year and enjoy the creativity that David displays in course design. The ace pool was not hit, leaving a $79 carry over for the next event.

Remember that the HGT event for July is on July 26th at the Country Course, the most prestigious of the HomeGrown courses. We will be playing the "Disc Roast" 25 hole layout and I am sure the the attendance will be huge as always.

The results from Rocky Ford as well as the up to date ZoneDriven points race are attached. Read and enjoy

'Till next time"
also I have the point standing and the score for Rocky Ford. So.....o take a look.

Hey, Word Up Folks. Here's some info that Dave sent Chuckster about Rocky Ford.

Chuck.,

Please let people know I am having a work day at my house on Saturday June
20th. It will start around 9AM. (Rain day of the 21st) I hope to get the
grass cuTT and all the baskets in place by early afternoon. Then there will be some random draw doubles in the afternoon.

Just an FYI about the Rocky Ford homegrown event.. There WILL be a pig
picking.. looks like $6-7 for a plate. I will also be cooking some
veggie burgers for those of us that don't do pork! Please bring your
portable tents and water coolers with ice. I am sure it will be hot again!

Thanks!

Dave
Please lets all help out if we can and remember to support those who support our sport.

Wow, what a great time and what a beautiful course we played this pass Sunday. Hack and his crew had out done themselves on sprucing up the course. I myself must confess, I had a very large time and must say thank you to all my gnomies for the great turn out. I always feel at peace and have nothing but good vibes when we play at Hack's. Hey, Great News, Hack,s is the first time I've been able to play to solid rounds of disc golf since my injury a year and a half ago. It really felt good and I look forward to finishing as many as possible here on out. No more TMF's(Too Much Fun) for me.
