The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I would like to begin a dialogue amongst our fellow Lakewood discers about the impending re-design of this course. Though some think that the scene will resemble the end of the film "Road Warrior" in which everybody just leaves at the end scratching their heads after all the destruction, I personally see it as a re-birth.

It seems we will lose holes 1-6 and 18. That's nearly half the course, but with the willing participation of all the community, we should have some good land to work with. Yes, the layout will be a bit shorter, but there's just not the open terrain to replace holes like #2, #4 and #5. But there are some really nice challenges. I have put a lot of thought into re-design and hope this will launch the discussions. Technical challenges, beauty and flow are all considered in this prototype, using existing holes, tournament holes and several new holes.

Please see the layout on Google Maps and click on the lines, teepads and pins for footage details and descriptions. http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UTF8&hl=en&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=48.909425,103.095703&z=4

Please see my website for images (in the snow) of the new holes. You just click on Lakewood DGC. www.toddwatkinsphotography.com

Thanks,
Todd

I could view the toddwatkins pictures, but the google maps link went to a copy of the USA?
Is that what you wanted, and I need to manuever to the Lakewood Disc Golf Course from there?
Great job.
That link didn't seem to save the annotations so that others could see. How about something like a kml file that we could drop into google earth?
Sorry bout the confusion- could you tell me how a klm file works?
I am just trying to share "My Maps" from the google maps site- may be a just clicking the collaborate button...

Thanks Todd for your pictures and efforts...beautiful snow. I like the changes, especially the over lake shots - will the county hate lots of discs ending up in the lake? Let me know when you get the teepad map viewable - might convert it to a PDF - I like the free converter called PDFcreator.

I tried again to go to the map url posted on here and googleearth didn't give me anything except a map of the US again -
so, I'm either doing something wrong ( I couldn't find the collaborate button) - but when I finally am able to see it, I JUST KNOW I will be psyched! Thanks Todd for your hardwork! I downloaded your new holes in the snow picturesd am trying to figure out where some of those holes are locdated. :)
Let's try this one more time.... If it does not work, then I encourage those interested to send me your email address to me at watkinstodd@msn.com and I will personally email you the link to the course map. I will keep your email confidential.

Hi, I'd like to share a Google Maps link with you.

Worked for me that time. I'll slowly work on getting the old and proposed layouts into GIS.

Tuffi, as 9, 10 and 11 already push into school property, do you think they might let us use any more real estate? e.g. the SE corner or between the ball fields?

Where is the SE corner of the ballfields? Is that by the restrooms, or by the soccer fields?
Are you talking about the area where the football players practice?

It worked for me - nice interactive way of presenting the whole course. Like what I see so far - thanks!

Look on the aerial for the school. At the SE corner of the property is a grassy area rimmed with trees.

There is also a large space at the edge of the outfield of the ball field we play against in #10.
