I have taken flash off of about 8 discs so far. I use emory boards. Interesting to note that it took about 25 minutes of hard sanding to de -flash a gl halo and about 1 minute for a similar champion orc.

I usually only remove flash if it is cutting through my callused fingers or the disc is psycho-stable.

What does that tell ya about L64 plastic?

They eat Emory boards for lunch.
Yessir
and they eat innova for lunch too
Innova's too big and bloated to eat for lunch. Gateway on the other hand . . .  ..  .
where is this flash? i have 3 lat discs and none of them seem to have anything that needs to be removed or cutting through my fingers.
It's extra mold plastic on the bottom of the rim. Usually it is trimmed off at the the factory. And if you get a disc with a sharp batch of it, you'll know
Sounds like the plastic is better, what a shame lol
If you have steady hands and know what you're doing, an x-acto knife can save you some time.  Sorry for necro-posting, I just saw this discussion.

I use the Scotch Brite Type "A" Very Fine scouring pads that you can get at automotive parts stores. Here at the Mercedes dealer we use them to remove buildup from aluminum cyllinder heads. They are able to get rid of the junk without marking up the aluminum. They work good even on GL platstic, go slow.

Or just enjoy the added stability and bleeding fingers for a while.......
