STRIKER (GOOOOOOAL!) 11 Replies

I liked this disc right outta the box when I got one a while back.  And now that they have made them in lower weights, I like 'em even better.  Like an eagle-teebird hybrid with more speed.  Continue

The Fuse 18 Replies

For me this disc is a perplexer.  In calm conditions it's the Fuse- does anything you ask w tons o' glide.  In the wind it's the conFuse:  But that's probably my fault (bad form etc...) Continue

Pure Genious!

Got a Zero Line Pure the other day. First off, the zero line plastic is so grippy! way more than any innova plastics. It's rigid with a bit of flex to it and is extremely flat top. Nice low profile a…Continue

The Flow has a ton of glide as well, but the flight path is different and takes way more power to get it to work. The window to vary arm speed is much smaller than the River or the Vision. The flow is kinda that next level disc.

The River is just an insane disc and it makes me wonder why they don't make more max glide drivers. It's probably technology, but the River is a marvel. You can get it to do anything you want, anhyzer, turnover, straight on and hold the line with just a bit of fade, hyzer for days... versatile and effortless. Best fairway driver there is.

The River is my favorite disc. Yes, I do have the ability to over power it and dive it right into the ground, but why. It is so easy on the arm, and the glide is unbelievably long. To beat the wind a litlle and give myself the op to pound the River a little more, I bought a hevier weight 176g, and it has worked for the most part. Other than my putter, it is the only disc I carry multiples of. The other is 172g.

@Dookville-- exactly! those are the uses for the vision that i was vaguely referring to. and yes, the river is the same way in the fact that it is most effective at less than full power.

i came across to hard with the vision stinks. it stinks for me, because it only has that one use, and the other shots i try with it, i just stink. same with other discs... i throw crappy shots because i'm crappy sometimes ha ha.

i'll have my bitch fodder and eat it too! :D

Right on El-K. The disc is what it is, it works, just not my style. So I traded it and moved on. Life and disc golf is just too varied and fun to get sunk by one thing.

I have never "clicked" with a vision. I have owned a handful of them but they never seemed to fit my release. But I have seen alot off folks throw the s#it out of them.
I can appreciate that.

That's why companies make several types of disc...to suit various shots and players (not to give people bitch fodder)

Much like the River, if you go at the Vision like you are going to pound out some big old drive on some huge distance line, you are missing the point. The Vision has a wonderful turnover line to it that IS longer than most with a lot less effort. other manufacturers discs have this big flexing 'S' to it, and the Vision just isn't like that. The Vision didn't fit my game or bag, but I did understand what it took to make it work. At 300ft it's a 70% pull with a hyzer flip aimed about 30ft left of the target. About 150ft feet out it starts a slow turnover right with a soft dying fade at the end with a little skip and curl.

Any more or less power and you have to start finessing release angles. I have about 350+ power.

@Josh - i know exactly what you mean. when i got the vision, i was pumped up, thinking it was a great replacement, and i was fine with it for a while. then one day i realized, "wow, i can't throw this nearly as far my sidewinder used to go, and damnit, when was the last time i had a birdie with this thing?!" i was just caught up in my love of this company. it has its use though, and i agree-- looks way sicker and feels awesome!

Oh, some jackhole on Discaroo was advertising his King as the "first 14 speed disc ever made!".  I guess I got caught up in Lat64 fanboyism with the Sidewinder/Vision comparison, the Sidewinder thrown with no angle, will just go for days, the Vision needs to turnover to go near that distance.  The Vision is so much touchier, that there is no argument.  I will admit my wrongs.  The Vision does, however, look a lot cooler, both in the hand and in the air.
