I liked this disc right outta the box when I got one a while back.  And now that they have made them in lower weights, I like 'em even better.  Like an eagle-teebird hybrid with more speed.  Continue

The Fuse 18 Replies

For me this disc is a perplexer.  In calm conditions it's the Fuse- does anything you ask w tons o' glide.  In the wind it's the conFuse:  But that's probably my fault (bad form etc...) Continue

Pure Genious!

Got a Zero Line Pure the other day. First off, the zero line plastic is so grippy! way more than any innova plastics. It's rigid with a bit of flex to it and is extremely flat top. Nice low profile a…Continue

The opto bolt varies a bit but is vastly more stable han the gl. Some of them are firebird-esque

Yeah, it's a really light broken in champion I found with no name on it.  It's more bendy and flexy than any champion disc I've seen, and I get my best rips on 9 speed discs.  It flies like a -1/4 for me.  I have a whole new wish list, Predator, Nuke OS, King, Destoyer - stuff I never thought I'd be able to throw.

yep...when they beat in they can do that.  Try hyzer angle first...if that doesnt work, punt.  Max weight optos don't flip too easy.

Firebird...turnover?  You might wanna write innova again lol

Anyone have problems/suggestions like this:  My River just goes on a perpetual turn now.  No fade.  What should I do to correct this, adjust to more of a hyzer angle?
Comment by Joshua Knutson on August 10, 2011 at 2:15pm

Actually 8/10 of my big d throws are turnovers, the Firebird, Vision, Viper, Star Katana and Wraith are my turnover discs, Nuke SS, Pro Katana, Vulcan, Avenger SS, Valkyrie and Sidewinder mostly give me big d with straight anhyzer bombs, once I get trajectory down some of those will be turning over and I am still working with hyzer on US discs to get more d.  Got a lot more to work on but I made a giant step yesterday and it feels amazing, my arm is dead today but I'm gonna slab on some Mineral Ice and get out there - I'm addicted to the sound of a good rip coming out of the hand and seeing the disc go into orbit compared to how I was throwing before.

I had hyzer flips down good but now they don't come back... are you suggesting just practicing taking some power off to keep the shot in my repertoire when needed?

Ps...now go work on your hyzer flipping before you accidentally throw away all your understable discs prematurely...
Comment by Joshua Knutson on August 9, 2011 at 3:12pm
ACtually, you are right lol.  But it turns over into a killer roll, and it goes straight naturally - I just hope it stays that way.

Good man...
now you'll hafta write innova that the free pro katana won't stop turning over on ya.

I know I'm going off topic and ranting here Kabong, but you'll appreciate this:  RIP POINT AND LOCK POINT.  For this entire time I have been consumed by the world of disc golf - constant research, practice, spending way too much money - THOSE TWO THINGS are what I was not understanding about throwing for distance.  Today, all the understable junk that takes up 3/4 of my bag is worthless to me.  In one day.  The Star Katana - it is now MY BEST DISC.  THE RIP AND THE LOCK...  I cannot believe it was something so small.  After hitting the school 3 times in field practice today after deciding to focus on rip and lock points, nose angle and trajectory I found myself throwing about 600 discs.  My best throws - All hitting the school (330-350ft) with 162 Champ Firebird, 163 Star Wraith (another disc I claimed was "flawed"), 173 Lat 64 Vision, 150 DX Viper, 166 Star Katana.  My form was wrong - those discs were fine I just thought I knew it all.
