The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

It's a little quiet right now, but it's that time of year.

Soon we will have info about our events for 2009. Here's a quick overview:

First off will be the Ice Bowl in January. This will be a one day event to benefit EDGE, the Educational Disc Golf Experience. Proceeds go to help schools develop disc golf programs in their physical education curriculums. Our favorite world ranked player-couple Jay and Des Reading will emcee.

In May, we will be running the "Worlds Biggest Disc Golf Weekend". This will be a one day event at Live Oak Park with flexible start times, and a great players package.

Both the Ice Bowl and Worlds Biggest are perfect for the first-time tournament player. It is a relaxed atmosphere, inexpensive to enter, and each benefits a local charity. If you have been thinking about playing an organized event to see what it's like, or to test your skills, these tournaments are the perfect opportunity.

In June or July will be the big show, the Live Oak Summer Open. We are looking at making this a PDGA "A" Tier event. The goal this year is 200 players, and we are shooting for over 100 amateurs.

I'll have more details as they become available.

Stay tuned!!
