Understand the costs.
More than average.
After all these years in the graphics industry, it was time to step up.
Had the cash.
Waited for the pentium chip. This machine is verrrrry fast, and smooth.
It's like a Mercedes, compared to a Chevy Chevette. Literally.
Discllike Microsoft!

Go to Apple.com prices vary for what you want.
Built mine over the phone. Money was not an option.
Nice write off that year. 2007. Actually bought 2, a lower model for the girlfriend.

How much did that cost you? Mine PC cost less than 300 dollars to build and I never have viruse problems.

Aaah,
You can build your own PC is true.
Had my Mac built to my specs. They had options. Fast video, pentium etc..
It's the viruses! with a PC.

Have to go with PC. Mac is vastly overpriced, won't let anyone else develop hardware - I'd just as soon run Ubuntu Linux on a PC.

Yeah,
The history of personal computers is very interesting.
Bill GATES was a pirate.
Don't like the security issues with non-macs...
Used all the OS Mac, Linux, Windows.

Was told the Mac hardrive works differently. Don't know how true it all is though.

PC. Macs are good and even better since they revamped their OS to use a UNIX kernel but if I want to use a UNIX kernel I'd rather use a free version of LINUX and buy plastic with the savings. I don't mind putting a system together so customer support is not a big selling point with me. I've been using a personal computer before IBM got into the mix and coined the phrase PC and I think the Mac vs. PC thing is kinda of funny. For some more background check out the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley to see how XEROX got screwed. All in all, use what gets the job done.

Started out w/a PC in the early 80s, switched to Mac in 84, still a faithful Mac user (iMac and iBook). Can't even remember how many I've had but Macs work well for the creative applications I get involved in.
