Have you ever found any music that was simply too heavy to get into?

I thought I liked some pretty heavy shit, listening to Lamb of God but a while back I ran across

http://www.dimmu-borgir.com/

Dude... I tried to like it but those guys are just too intense for me. Never thought I'd say "turn that noise off" but, as much as I tried it just sounds like angry racket to me.

Yes it can! I actually went to a concert last night and other than the headliner, the show sucked! The opening bands were Gwen Stacy, White Chapel, the Acacia Strain and Protest the Hero.
Unearth, the headliner, effin' ruled and I realized, I'm not getting old. These new bands just SUCK! On the "death/black metal" note: I like Lamb of God but anything like Dimmu, Canibal Corpse, deicide, etc is just too much. I've seen Dimmu live and they suck. Sorry if they have fans around here but I don't like it. I don't even really like the early (early) Lamb of God when they called themselves "Burn the Priest"

Yeah Burn the Priest sounded a lot like growling, like a grizzly with a soar throat. For me music is just as much about the content as it is about the sound. There are a TON of bands trying to *sound* like LoG, but few of them can match the lyrical and musical ferocity that LoG puts on.

That's why I love early Metallica, LoG and Tool. If you've got something to say and you present it well, I'm all for it. If you're just screaming to get attention... (All that Remains) well, I can hang out with my buddy's kids for that.

Gimme songs like, Disposable Heroes, Master of Puppets, Omerta, Blacken The Cursed Sun, Ashes of the Wake, Wings for Marie, Ticks and Leeches, Aenema... yeah... that's the stuff.
a lot of the stuff coming out of gothenberg sweden tends to be a little more melodic (In Flames, Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility etc) Are there any Every Time I Die or Dillenger Escape Plan fans in this club?
i'm a huge fan of Every Time I Die. I liked gutter phenom album the best. They are alot different then most metal bands. I just like the overall sound of it. But i just love Metal in general :)
