Bryce, as far as setting public pars on the distances you have posted. I would have to see each hole and what it entails from getting to the pin from the tee. A hole that is 175 feet may be a par 4 depending on what lies between tee and pin. I would like to also see a couple of holes within the 100-150 foot range. I can tell you from experience that long mini disc golf courses do not bring out many players because distances are unreasonable. At my Beaver Creek Mini Disc Golf Course, I have a hole that is about 75 feet set at par 3 and only draws 2s about 1/2 of all throws. Shorten it up and makeit more fun. W will also extend alternate tees for the better players for a more challenging game when needed. Hope this helps. Donnie MDGF#.00001

Bryce, not all mini course have par 54 for 18 holes. I agree that the distances that you have listed are long for par 3. You should adjust the pars to accomodate the distance and hazards for each hole. At our Hobson Park Mini Disc Golf Course we have many par 4s and a par 5 hole. The par 5 hole is 257 feet with a left hook downhill. (this course was designed for the public of all ages) (not just us pro players) We play the course as 54 and the public plays it at an elevated par. This just makes the game more fun for people if pars are set at a reachable goal. If a par is unachievable, than the game becomes frustrating for the general player.
Great work for promoting and playing Mini, Maybe we can have an international MENTL contest one of these days. Looking for more good things from Canada. Keep them flying, Donnie MDGF#.00001

I know 54 is the easy way to count it but it seems kinds low for mini's.

I just started playing mini ... one of our local DG club members has started a local club ...MENTL Mini Enthusiasts League ... I have been using our normal DG course ... nothing over 400' but close lol... and the founder of MENTL just designed an object course which can be played night or day at Lorne Park in Brantford ON. Mini is growing here in Ontario

I experienced mini golf of the first time in this year's world championship.
It was applauded though the disk got on the top of the goal.
Because it was the first experience,
it was very satisfactory.

The San Francisco Safrari Mini doubles was a blast on 8/10 after the awards ceremony. Sick length and pin positions one on top of a barbeque, one on top of a log, one on top of a stump! Me and Kevin fro Santa Cruz placed second, and we and the first place team each won a Whammo mini target. We used the new Innova Star mini driver. Very stable and long!

The San Francisco Safari is going to have a mini tourny at the end of the Safari on 8/10. Bring your own partner doubles. An Innova Star mini is in the entry. $10 a team. http://www.sfdiscgolf.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=864
