I've only been playing a few months and haven't had any luck developing my short game...More specifically my putting does any one have any tips?

How quickly should one expect to improve, given that you're practicing almost every day? I can throw fairly straight, and my biggest problem is my distance. I started out at about 30' driving about 10 weeks ago. I added an X-step after a week, and increased to 50'. I moved up to 60' over the next month by doing some work with an elastic band. I moved up to about 70' by changing drivers from a leopard to a t-bird. Now, I'm pretty constant at about 70', and have been for about a month. I'd like to try and get up to about 100' before the winter break, because I'm sure I'll lose some distance over winter. Am I being unrealistic? What else might I work on? I'm thinking about trying discs with more glide. Have you found that helpful when you're dealing with a short drive?

I see alot of Discs have different weights, How do I know which is best for me? whats the difference between the weights? better flight?

I found that Practicing my Form on the throw helped me more than the x-step did. I throw about the same distance either way and when talking with local pros it seems that they value good form over all else.

Should a beginner really practice/work on a RUN UP release while driving, or start off by focusing on properly snapping without a 'run-up" drive on the tee?

(I notice when I try to put that power behind it from a run up type of drive, I can't always control where it goes)
