What upsets me is when you put your name and email on your discs and still they are not returned! Remember, disc thieves taste like chicken!!!

One of the league members was in a playoff with me yesterday, and about two holes in he remembers and asks me if I lost a dyed Eagle on hole eleven a week before, he was playing with a group right behind us a couple holes. I said no but that one of the other guys did. He said how? as it was right by the tree next to the basket. I said I know, he actually threw it in the no-mow shule to the left of the baskets and we went in to retreive it, found two other discs before we found his, he threw it out and then forgot to pick it up. One of the other two was returned that day, the other still in lost and found. Now this Eagle will be returned to it's owner as well. Good golf kharma.

i get a healthy return of discs from league members but i have only once ever received a lost disc back of mine. i lose about 1 a year. I hope the karma works for those i collect. i also hope the bastards who give me crap about the color of lost and found discs rot in heck. being color blind, when i say i found a X disc of X color i don't want crap because i get the color wrong.

One thing I like to do right nest to my name and Number on some of my favorite discs is to add the insentive of $$ Reward $$...in hopes that it gets returned and depending on the disc I will offer a decent return and or another disc. however even some of those never get returned...what can ya do

I was commenting to someone in my group when I was playing draw doubles at Fritz on Saturday about how I don't mind water per se, but I don't like water where there are signs that state that you are not to go into the water, or the water is such that it is difficult at best to find your disc in it, so that you are at the mercy of water dogs who never call you.

He mentioned a time out there where a water dog had taken someone's disc out of the water and refused to give it back. Somehow, a policeman came on the scene, and asked the person whose name was on the disc if he had left the park since the disc went in the water, and he said No, and the officer said that the WD had to give the disc back or face consequences. Presumeably, in TX at least, or more precisely, in Irving, TX, you still have claim to the disc until such time as you leave the area in which the disc reposed, which in this case, the officer defined as the park proper.

A tool signed my ace disc today and then promptly walked off with it. We had just finished the bag tag challenge and everyone was signing my ace disc, after the people that were playing another round teed off, I starte asking who had my ace disc, no one. so I started asking all the cards, and this tool, jumped in his car and boogied out of there. he had to have taken it, everyone was pissed off about it, esp. myself.

That's pretty cool Dave. I went to my local DG store today and got a used Orc. Its funny because I somehow think the disc was mine to begin with. Anyway it only cost 9 bucks to get my first run champion Orc back.

One of the newbies at my local course found a buddy of mine's disc. It was unmarked but I know it was his and the newbie said well maybe if it was marked I'd give it back. My buddy asked for it and he finally gave it back but he didn't want too. The next time I saw him at the park, I told him I thought he did the right thing and promptly gave him a slightly used KC Pro Teebird. i'm proud to say the newbie nows plays my mini every week and he gets it, he really gets it now. Yeah John, he is even prowd of his moniker "the Swamp Rat". I've addressed him before and told him what I thought of his practice in no uncertain terms.
The thing is, he's everything John advertises him to be but he's not even alone in the DFW metroplex. There's another tool that frequents the Lake and parts north for the same reasons. To scavenge and sell for profit on Ebay, plain and simple. I've addresses him as well and his answer was a mirror of the swamp rat, "they gave up, they left it, they didn't want it, I got it out so it's mine". This second person tried to run a mini and couldn't figure out why nobody wanted to play his mini. What a dumbass!
I believe that if I give up on a disc, and walk away, you can keep it. That being said, almost everyone in the area knows me and most of the time I tell them to keep it unless it's really special. Like the time Tom Prasaitis found my 2003 USDGC big bird Roc and returned it, to which I propmtly gave him ten bucks. He said I didn't have too so I told him to go buy a twelve pack and I'd help him dispose of it, that's fair right?
