At last it is beginning to look like North Wilkesboro will have a Disc Golf course in the very near future. The Town Council have given the Wilkes Disc Golf Club the go-ahead to begin the planning and placement of a public course in North Wilkesboro! This will be in Highland Park a 25 acres park that is not being used for anything at the moment. This park has a lot of ups and downs to give golfers a bit of exercise. If you want to contribute, sponsor a hole, score cards, help buy a basket go to www.wilkesdiscgolf.org

Looks like I'll be there on the day of the doubles event. But, being my first time there I will not be interested in the tourney - this time.

I plan to be there March 20th. Looking forward to trying Fox Chase for the first time (as Russell Schwarz course designs never disappoint.)

Just played the Statesville course (Bell & Howard Chev. DGC) for the first time. Much better course than expected (dgcoursereview.com has some negative reviews for this course.)

Front nine has a good mix of easy to average difficulty. Great for family and beginning players.
Back nine is brutal - heavy brush requiring accurate throws, long curving fairways, and tricky basket placements give a workout to amatuer and advanced players.

Good course to visit if traveling through NC; plus easy access from I-40.
