North Side Chain Gang Mission

The North Side Chain Gang is a club of Houston area disc golfers who feel that the way to improving disc golf is to donate time and resources in the effort to earn more public acknowledgment of the sport and its wealth of talent on the North Side of Houston. Home to some of the state's most talented players, and some of the best courses in the state, the game is little more than a vastly popular underground sport to the community.
Through restoration and improvement projects using funds that are properly managed by the club and its officers, and raised through charitable events, minis, and leagues, the sport will grow within the area, and gain popularity and credibility through the good public relations built by donations on behalf of the club.
Equally, the club also believes that the future of the sport is its youth, and that there is a growing need to bring credible communtiy programs to recruit future stars of tommorow.
Meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month, and wll have a location announced on this site. The first Saturday of every month will be a work day on one of our area courses that fall under our charter.
Membership Dues are $20 a year. All monies collected by the club are spent on projects that benefit disc golf in North Houston and beyond.

I am happy to report that Chain Gang Members Rusty Barkley, Scott Coleman, Mark McCoin, and Steve Dufrane worked out at Shawshank by assisting in the course evaluation with the Birdshot boys for the upcomming tournament. Aditionally, we filled up two trailers of brush and took them to the bonfire pit, as well as some other course debris material, and the removal of some large logs that will be turned into benches in the near future. So this makes work session number 2 since our last meeting. With tommorow's work session, that will make 3 in one month. Far more than what the club's charter states. I'd say this is a good start. Let's keep it up.

I will be doing the clean up by man power, so it might take awhile. LOL! Can't get ahold of a chainsaw so will be using an ax yet again. Plan on getting rid of the tree on 18, the top of the tree that fall on 15, some of the branches on 12, and some more of the branches on the walk way from the basket of 10 to the tee box of 11. Hope there's not something going on this weekend that will mess up the plans again like last time. Hope to see everyone out there after the mini.

White towels are superior over any tye dye towel or any color of towel. They are the pure towel and must protect their white towelness. They don’t want the infection of the multi-color towels to poison their young white hand towels. That is want the white towel is all about. WHITE TOWEL!!!!!

White Towel!!!! Prez here, just saying thank you to Justin. I'll join after the mini that day. BTW, on Saturday, there is a Birdshot Mini going on at TC Jester. Conall and I are going if anybody is interested. After that round we are going with some friends like Rusty, Dutch, and a few others up to Shawshank in preparation for the event. I would be more than happy to carpool if people are interested in going. So let me know. WHITE TOWEL!
