The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

The third leg of the Park Your Drive series is at Fort Custer Recreation Area in Augusta, Michigan. As stated above...The date is September 26th.and is called Custer's Last Stand.
Alot of changes have taken place to the course since Worlds '08 in which Fort Custer disc golf was a part. We lost 3 holes to a rezone snafu and had to adjust to it. Other than some signage upgrades and hole measurements...I believe Fort Custer to be tournament ready. We have been working hard. Course maps (12 hole Beach Course & 18 hole layouts) are available at the park office, entry gate, camping area and beach concessions. If you are interested in the Park Your Drive series and are near Fort Custer Recreation Area...come on out and play before the event. You won't be disappointed... unless it's pouring down rain. Please ask for a map if it is your first time.
No online registrations or flyers have been made as of yet.
Lastly...Custer's Last Stand signifies the end of season for Fort Custer disc golf. The course will be closed for hunting season directly after the tournament and reopen in January '10.
Thanks,
K.

I'll be there.
I also plan on attending. Make a weekend of it and play in the opening event of the 4th season of the Michigan Intercollegiate Disc Golf Challenge Series on Saturday, September 25 in Three Rivers. We'll be playing match play doubles in the morning at the South Course, then following lunch at Paisano's (a great $$$$ponsor of disc golf), we'll be playing match play singles on the North Course.

These events pit college players against each other in handicapped match play (based on PDGA or club league ratings), and club players against each other. While all it takes is a two-person team to be competitive, all players also compete in an individual points race earning points for themselves as well as their schools/clubs.

Be there by 9:00 a.m. to register. Minimum cost to play is $10 for the day. (Max is $30 if you want to get in on all the betting interests!).

Will there be a Junior Division like the last one? My cousin and little brother really want to enter...
Too bad this was scheduled over two other local events, the Club Dead Match Play Challenge in Battle Creek and the Kace's league party at Cold Brook. I know Leonard and I would have been there if it weren't
Scott,
We had no control over the schedule of the Park Your Drive series. I'm sure you would have made it otherwise. I hope your's and Coldbrooks were successful events.
I have no idea how many participants were playing at Fort Custer during there event. Getaway Sports disc golf club has all the details.
Thanks,
K.
I know how the dates were picked, and Chad did have a say. Unfortunately,he has a history of scheduling his stuff over established local events.
OK...thanks Scott.
Other than the tourney being clouded in controversy he had about 20+ discers out there on the course. Which I feel was a success for the series.
BTW...I did not know he had a say concerning the dates. Hmmmm.
K.
I am glad he had a good turn out and things went well.
