My first time at the bender was with my son Wade and we hooked up with Whitler and the late James Hedefine. Whitler proceeded to shoot 21 under and the 3 of us were horrible. I felt bad for Whitler as the 3 of us were in and out of every horrible place there could be.
I started playing Pender Island in 1983. I will always remember Rasta and I winning the doubles. I also remember the ferry ride over there from tswassen (wow) what a beautiful area tha you all live in. I left Canada in 2001 because of my Mothers ill health. There are times that I regret moving back to the U.S.. Pender Island was a real howl, fun to be had by all.
I really wish that there were more of the Pender Island type tournaments. The only simular experience that compares to Pender is the Troy, Montana summer tournament. I hope to come back to pender somtime in the future, Ive attended at least, 10 of them , and had a blast in every tournament that I played in there.
