So being angry, i kicked my bag and was a jackass. I have gotten much better over the years, at controlling my temper. I now, am a happy Disc Golfer and enjoy playing ant place, anywhere( Almost) I Have won doubles there with Rasta, And won Masters also in the mid 80s. Pender probobly is the most fun tournament on the circuit. One of theese days, I would like to play the Basket Layout

Have played Pender many times. The Tournament is always a blast. My first exposure to Pender was 1983. I lived in Vancouver, B.C. and thru the locals, played my first tournament there. I suucked, I had an 11 on one of the hillside pole positions ( what a nightmare) At that time I was a very tempermental golfer,

Golf Island has become one of my favorite courses. First time I played was 2003, I think it was a Duck Golf Series Tournament. Have been to every tournament since with my best finish in 2007 1st place Advanced Masters division. Very cool people and just an awesome getaway. Gotta love it!

hey, pretty cool write-up on Pender Island in the latest issue of Disc Golf. I can say I've been to 3 "Pender Benders". My first was in 1987, it was part of the Northwest Series @ the time. 18 tone poles, I remember hearing "Bang-Bang -Bang", ACES EVERYWHERE! I got my 1st one early in the round, & thought "yeah, I'm getting some extra $ for acing!" Everyone put in $5, I hit 2 Aces that week-end, got my $5 back! I was warned by Glen O not to eat the ferry food, some people (dumb Americans) didn't heed his words and ended up kinda Green looking the next morning! It sure was an event I'll never forget, Toby's parents were super cool- Everyone was SUPER COOL!! It was also the first time that I ever heard "you're Marty Cook, we thought you would be BIGGER!" If u ever get the chance, PLAY PENDER ISLAND. Peace- Marty Cook
