Beanieman Rocks Worlds 2008

Our beloved Carl "Beanieman" Renda will soon return back home with very first world disc golf championship crown for San Diego in a 1 stroke victory in the 2008 Worlds Men's Am.Mini-Disc Golf Championships in Michigan this past week.

Sources close to "Beanieman" state that it was his extensive use of a “specialized” mini-disc overhand-tomahawk, as well as his training at Montiel DGC that helped him win his first (of many?) championships.

Carl is also posting some good scores in the “non-mini-disc” championship rounds. At last look he was +1 for the tourney while fellow San Diegan’ “Sidearm” Dave Roper is hovering around +4.

A celebration honoring Carl’s World Championship will take place at future time and date tba.

Written statements of apology from all 11 members of the “Keep Carl Renda Down” Club should appear soon on this site. :)

So what's the bet for SVO? Another putter challenge?

I'm still amazed by the 54 at Robert Morris. I wish I could have seen the Beanieman in action for that round. Congrats buddy.

P.S. Don't expect an apology from me. I'm going to continue to give Carl props when he kicks my butt and criticism when he chunders. :)

Thanks for the love guys. I will be making my return to Morley for Friday Night Doubles this week, and I will bring my World Championship trophy and gold mini basket. For anyone following the competition, I actually finished -12 and Roper was -10. The pars for us for each round were 61, 62, 58, 66, 61, 62, 61. The 57-57-54 finish was easily the best 3 consecutive rounds i've ever played in a sanctioned event, and I think it would have been easily good enough for a top 5 at a SoCal event, I was that hot. I moved up 70 spots from 175th with 2 days left to finish at 105th. Roper, Noah and I all cashed. But here is the best part...Noah lost a bet to Paul McBeth because I beat him and now he is required to wear a green beanie at every event he plays for the rest of the year, weekly and monthlies included. Worlds is the best tournament ever and I recommend that everyone do it at least once, if not every year!

As for a written apology, I don't see any of those forthcoming. The way I see it, we are one of the reasons that motivated Carl to achieve this World Title. But if he lets this crown go to his head, KCRD will be there to remind him where he came from.

Just for clarification...as of this post Roper is at +1 and Beanieman is at +2.

I'm sorry I ever doubted you Carl. It's not a surprise to me that you won the Mini event. It comes natural to you because you're a Mini-man. Way to go Carl!!!
