Fun Tournaments Anyone?

What do you think of holding fun tournaments with music being played on every hole. I was just thinking it would be a good way to appease all those iPod buffs. I'm guilty myself on tour. I wear an iPod to drown out sudden unexpected noises.
What about bringing back the old school fun tournaments with kegs of beer every 3 holes. Non-PDGA of course. We need to have fun in this game again everyone is so serious all the time. PUT AWAY THE #$%*&ing RULE BOOK!!

A tourney like this at Whistlers and I would make the trip for sure. Ive had dreams about that place lately. That course is amazing!

We play skins at my buddies private 18 hole course every sunday, He has two golf carts we ride around on, one has a stereo system on it and a cooler of beer. We did that for the discraft ace race he held out there also. It's a good time, it teaches you to be more patient that is for sure. Even pro players that have been out there have fun and cut loose more than normal.

I usually have a beer or two when we play, but it's amazing how quickly the situation can get out of control sometimes. for instance , some folks don't pack their trash prefering to stash it behind a tree or bush. plastic and glass bottles never seem to get picked up once they hit the ground. My home course is directly behind a jr high school and that sets a poor example of disc golf and golfers when the students ( who mostly built the course) have to run through a landfill during their PE classes.
Don't get me wrong cause I like to party and play with the best of them , but you all can surely see what I mean.
also... you can't really improve your game if you don't play by the rules!

camping and disc! To party at night on the first dayof the tourney, night game on the second and wrap it up with rounds on the 3rd.... that would be wicked! think I'll try it here!there is a park called Indian Mary that has a course in its campground
nine holes but 18 tees, plenty of recycle and trash cans , and you wouldn't have to drive for most of the wkend ....hmmmm.
ever heard of that park Pure? Roots? let me know!

i totally hear you on the trash thing. we have a small 9 hole course and i bet you could make $30 just from recycling the beer cans that are there. i always seem to play like s**t when i drink during a round.i think there is a time and a place and the right tournament to party like a discgolf star....

I think fun tournaments is where it is at. My friend Luke and I have a disc golf extravaganza with music, food, all inclusive fun, GOOD beer and silly games of chance. Last year we got down with Monkeys and listened to a jam band. Love it. It is what life should be., fun.
