Is it true that there is an erosion problem at the course? If so, is there anything being done to prevent it? It would be a very sad day in the disc golf world if this course were to cease.

Yes it's true. It's getting worse by the day... Due to the obscene amount of foot traffic on the course. Hopefully we will be able to get the Pinto Lake course in Watsonville as well as the course at Aptos High School. If these 2 get put in then it will definitely alleviate the erosion problem. The course won't cease but... A lot of holes will continue to be shut down for good.
IE: Hole 17
Well I have always said the So called Errosion problem is not really a problem, there are more things that meet the eye of the beholder and that is my believe.
Like for instance, Water up at the course?(basically it is all just natural, when the rain comes then there is water).
Put it in perspective, if you take a soccer field and don't water it what will happen?
