The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

In my opinion, the discgolfersr.us website may not be the best place to have real discussion between many people. Like myspace and facebook, its a great place to keep in touch with friends, post pics and videos, and have one on one discussions, but it isn't good for stuff that dedicated forum software does so well.

http://nidga.sportboard.net/washington-f17/ is the Washington section on http://www.northidahodiscgolf.com/ and I'm sure that if you asked for moderator status for that section then the webmaster would be happy to grant it. It has a nice, clean look, and it is easy for anyone to start new topics for discussion and is good for both casual and club topics.

Not to mention that it is used for North Idaho discussion already, and the Spokane and North Idaho scenes are closely related.

Several SDGA members already have accounts there.

It would be nice to have a real place for internet discussion with Spokane and Eastern Washington golfers, similar to the way the GCF have brought together all of Montana on their wonderful forums at http://www.gardencityflyers.org/site/forum

Thanks for your input Lyle. Your points are valid and appreciated. We'll take it all in and discuss it with the club to determine what the final outcome will be.

Again thanks for responding,
Lesli
You seem to make it out to be a club decision between the two choices, or that the two are mutually exclusive.

Its simpler than that. Just have yourself or other board members get moderator access to the Washington section of the North Idaho site, and then see where people post/have discussions.

I have made my case here and have directed people to the North Idaho forum. The golfers will determine which is best by which site they use to communicate.

While the official channel of communication is being determined, I recommend posting relevant information at both locations if it isn't too inconvenient. Discgolfersr.us will have the initial advantage of inertia, but you should see an increase in usage of the North Idaho forum over time.

[edit]I just noticed that this forum converts links to open in a pop-up. That's just nasty.[/edit]
