As of right now, the event is still South vs North. Any changes will have to be run through the board, and the addition of new teams will require new captains and some serious 'district' mapping. Let's see if we can run a second SvN successfully before we try making it more complicated.

that would be sweet to have an east county team.....only problem is that i dont see too many disc golfers out at sun valley to choose from. maybe someone needs to draw "district" lines that way we are not playing against southies playing for the north!! just a thought

Well, for the South, I plan on running two different Bag Tag Challenge Qualifiers before the end of the summer. As with the Course Championship, top 5 finishers in each event will get automatic spots, and the other 10 spots will be picked from the remaining participants. I'm thinking that we will do one at each course.
I would prefer to keep traditional match play score this time as well, counting only wins and losses, and not total holes won.

Very true, Roper. This time around it wouldn't have mattered though. I have a feeling there will be more North County players appearing at Morley later this year. Wonder who's gonna make the 09 team. How will it be determined?

Devo, Don't hold your breath... :p

Ben, every other match play I've played in was set up in the way you described below (Team tournament, SoCal vs NorCal). Both ways are fun, but the strategy is definitely different.

An idea that I had was the possibility of having teams from the North, East, South and Central areas of San Diego. If the teams were limited to 10-12 players, I believe there quality players from each area. Just an idea of course.

You are the core of the 2009 team! When are you going to move up to North County?

That was a fun day of disc golf. Thankfully the weather was great for disc golf. Already looking forward to the 2009 N/S Tourney.

If we had used the traditional match play scoring method, the South would have prevailed 31-24. Montiel: South 4, North 2, 4 ties. Emerald Isle: North 10, South 9, 1 tie . Morley: South 13, North 7. Sun Valley: South 5, North 5. Maybe for next year it could revert to that method as it is a lot easier to add up and use total pioints won as a possible tiebreaker.
