Checked 350.org
Cool info.
When get more time, plan on going into depth about it.
Live in Florida, what an eco-disaster!
Unfortunately, it takes an economic downturn to stop the Developers!
There has to be a better way to generate income.
How about all future homes must be "green" with solar, wind and efficient systems!

I'm going on an Eco-disc tour for Cool Planet, 1 Sky and 350.org to link disc play with environmental action.

If you live along this route... Leave July 2 Mpls- Madison- Chicago-Indy- Louisville- Bowling Green- Nashville- Chattanooga- Atlanta- Jacksonville...STOP for World Overalls July 7-12- Savannah- Augusta- Columbia SC- Charlotte- Winston Salem- STOP City Council mtg -Greensboro- Durham- Richmond VA- Fredricksburg- DC-STOP DC Ultimate Championships and Play Frisbee-Heal the Earth Family Festival (remember the Smithsonian Festivals?) on July 18-19 for golf, ddc, accuracy, ultimate, yoga, massage and Climate Action with mentoring new players and learning how we can all cut our carbon and live green.- Pittsburgh- Columbus-Detroit- South Bend- Chicago- Milwaukee and back to Mpls.

Asking for you to host or attend a 2 hour gathering with friends, city council members, mayors, eco activists....at your home, coffee shop or other public location. Building awareness and focussed action on creating Eergy Commissions and Community Green Teams to focus on alternate transportation, community gardens, passing the Waxman-Markey Climate Legislation and "Connecting People around nature, energy use, disc play and a changing climate"...the Cool Planet mission.

Spread the word and check out 350.org and the 10/24 International Day of Climate Action 6 weeks before the Copenhagen Climate Summit to re write the failed Kyoto Agreement...our last chance to get it right!!!!

New '09 Shut Up & Throw Bottom Stamped (Green Stamp Only)
Eco Star Destroyers will be available soon @ Disc Player approved retailers.
Sorry for the spam, trying to do our part instead of selling "new" plastic.
Does the smooth top make the disc fly better?
On the clean up note:
We disc golfers every year take part in a River City clean up.
Too bad there is so much plastic bags floating around.
Why is it that "China" can ban them (big polluters) and here We do not?

Recycle or Die
Jonny Roc Comment by Jonny Roc on February 2, 2009 at 11:03pm
At Westmoreland we started a Garbage campaign. We elected a couple locals, worked with City Workers, and Bought 3 Extra cans, w/Lids, Chains and Locks. We effectively Cleaned the course in a matter of a week, and since then have not had much struggle with enforcement. Plus some of our more disadvantaged community members are able to recycle the cans and bottles. instead of walking the course in search. They could just monitor the 5 Garbage can's. " Westmoreland=9 hole Rec Course"... Cheers....oh yeah I like the Idea of awarding the team at Doubles that brings in the most trash. Maybe the winners get a disc from the Club Stock, or something!!!!!!!!

Every little bit helps. As I play rounds of disc golf I try to grab at least one piece of trash off the ground and unite it with a waste bin.
