The issue we have right now is that we need people that will support the course and the outsiders efforts into the future. Currently the Outsiders are low on membership and have built the course with a small group of volunteers. You are correct in saying that the goals should be common among the locals, but the players do not have a legitimate non-profit disc golf organization to help raise funds for the course or to use to gain sponsors etc for events. This is crucial in my opinion. The Outsiders does and as far as I know (as a current member) is willing to bring in a players/clubs under their non-profit status if that is what the players want. All they have to do is join the Outsiders and their voice can be heard at meetings. Because they hold the operating agreement, it will difficult to get the city to allow sanctioned events without the support of the Outsiders. I have been told they are looking to offer a lower cost membership and I am looking into making that a bag tag included cost for new club members. Unless another club is willing to fill this gap, the only alternative I see is a new club in order to truly support the course. If an existing club will come to the plate, we could still work it out for the non-profit but it would still require people becoming members where the fees will support the course, the Outsiders and the players. As for worlds, it will take some time. We will need to run some smaller local events and see how the opposition responds to players holding large events at the Hwy 32 site. The chance that they will fight to keep us out is very high.

NorCal event next Spring / Summer would be nice. Spring could be impossible with the ridiculous Chico wet weather policy. The Outsiders deserve credit for navigating the Chico political landscape and saving the course. However, they don't have experience with NorCal / PDGA in holding sanctioned tournaments. The Worlds could come to Chico now that there are three first class courses in the region (O-ville; Black Butte and Chico), but Rick and Chip have the political connections at NorCal and PDGA to make it happen, not the Outsiders. The region would be best served by a trilateral meeting of the minds with Chip; Rick and the Outsiders, all representing their courses to meet a common goal-creating the best disc golf in the West!

I am looking into forming a new club for the players who call Upper Park their home course. The Outsiders have officially named the course Peregrine Point Disc Golf Course. I like the name of "Peregrine Point Disc Golf Club" I am looking into bringing it under the non-profit umbrella of the Chico-Outsiders and hope to help grow the membership in the organization the maintains the course and holds the operating agreement with the city. This would hopefully include Bag Tags and a weekly plus one large event each year for the club.
