Volunteer/work schedule through 9-19

Please support this effort by volunteering your time and energy.

Location - Highway 32 disc golf course

September 9th: Thursday 6PM-8PM* - Place tree guards, remove log at hole 3, make final access improvements.

September 11th and 12th: Saturday and Sunday 9AM-1PM* - Install tee pad frames. We'll accomplish as much as possible Saturday, and if all tee pads are installed Sunday will be canceled.

September 18th and 19th: Saturday and Sunday 9AM-1PM* - Install target anchors. We'll accomplish as much as possible Saturday, and if all anchors are installed Sunday will be canceled.

*Times and jobs can change or be extended based on the number of people volunteering or the availability of materials. Last minute changes will be posted at www.chico-outsiders.com.

How to volunteer:
Volunteer at....
email: info@chico-outsiders.com

Web: www.chico-outisders.com

Facebook: "Project 32" group

Or just show up at one of the posted times.

Email, web, and Facebook updates will occur regularly. Contact us to offer special skills or to let us know you want to help volunteer. Every hour volunteered, regardless of your physical capacity, is matched by the City of Chico and benefits the project. If you can only make it part time we still want you there. Bring family and friends.

When volunteering:
You should wear sturdy shoes and work clothes. Bring your own water, food, and sun block. Bringing your own hand tools such as work gloves, shovel, hoe, and wheelbarrow is also a good idea.

yeah, I have stayed off the course when it is obviously muddy but I am only here for another few days and have no course in So-Cal.

PS The policy was based on some studies put together through the Park Commission and was voted on and approved a couple months ago. I believe Rangers can now cite players breaking the policy just like those who ride horses or bikes when the trails are closed.

Hey JJ, the wet weather policy is available at the city of Chico website. It basically says that is certain amount of rain falls the courses will be closed for a certain period. What that means for us is that the course could be closed indefinitely. They have already proved this to be the case as the course had time over a few sunny days last week to dry and the signs were never touched. The Outsiders are hoping everyone stays off the course when the disc golf sign is closed even if it is indefinite. Hope to see you from time to time, so please send me a message when to are back in town. Mark

I am going back to school on Monday so I wont be able to make it :(. I was also wondering if anyone knew exactly what the "wet weather policy" is based on? I played the course on Monday before this storm came through and the course was "closed" but I didn't even get my feet dirty.
