I have been long contemplating this very concept, I seem to have greater physical control when my mental focus is in full. The concept of a mantra is what trancendentalists deem the key to pure consciousness, this realm is where the greatest philisophical discoveries are made. Now what does this have to do with putting... repetition! We all know that practice makes perfect, so if practicing the physical aspect of putting is paired with a mental cue to focus, accuracy, and draining a put we will have all bases covered! It is comparative to the example of telling yourself that there is no tree in the way, or the bush does not exist, but really the intention is to keep your focus as if you are in your back yard practice putting.
So a mantra is a word or phrase that has no definitive meaning to the individual, but it does have a profound physical effect on the body... relaxation. The sum is that doing anything, weather it is disc, your job, or driving a car it will be easily replicated when in a relaxed state!

always ease the mind, like a flowing stream, un-obstructed to flow freely.

As a long time student (well over ten years) of ZEN,
we are taught at the beginning that :

" before you can focus your mind,
you must first focus your breath ! "

Putting should be no different.

Was it an article in FDM that recommended the book "Zen and Archery" or somesuch as a good resource-- It's not the result that matters, simply achieving the perfect flight is the perfect state of Zen putting, because if that is correct, the result will most often be that which is desired

Definately, its all mental...keep focused and they always go in, or where you want em to

there is a state of mind you must achieve where all you see is the sweet spot . Your point of focus. When all else is tuned out and with a smooth ex-hail you see the trajectory in your mind a split second before release. And you feel the flow.
You can tell instantly...

If there is something in the way of my putt or shot, Say a tree of limb, I use the force to tell myself that there is nothing there and the shot is wide open. For some reason this works for me. I think it is because I am not concentrating on the obsticle instead of the basket. It is all in your mind.
