Information

TITTABAWASEE TRAILS DISC GOLFERS - Freeland Michigan

For all and any that LOVE playing, those that plan on coming and anyone that's never heard of Freeland Michigan's Tittabawasee Trails. A fantastic 18 hole course where you'll learn how to split wood. Very scenic, not real long & a challenge for all.

Ok I think I just found the answer to my own question. I looked up League scores and it looks like I need to improve by around 8-15 strokes lol. Oh well..Last year at this time I was trying to shoot under +20 on par 4's. Now Im shooting under +10 par 3's. Hopefully be the end of this year I'll be able to stay around even..

Whats considered a good round at Freeland? I've been wanting to join a league or even try a small tournament, because it seems most players I meet up with..I beat. Some by just a small margin but most by at least 10 strokes..and thats on an average day. If Im doing well, I kill them. Im not trying to be modest or anything but I really want to know if I stand a chance against people who have been at it for awhile. Or if I would actually be a contender if I entered a tournament. Playing Par 3's on freeland (and not shooting over the lake on 3) I average around +5. Normally no worse then +9. Is that good for the course? Am I decent? lol or should I be shooting par or under? All comments are welcome, but be gentle. Im really just trying to find out if I stand a chance..

Hey folks, if ya plan on going out to Freeland to play, bring some mud boots, or you'll be freezing. Just that little bit of rain we got the other day has greatly flooded most of the course. More water, more mud, and even more water. Hole 1 is almost completely under unless you throw a good shot off the tee. Hole 2, 3, and 4 are decent. Hole 5 is a bit sticky but better then its been lately. Hole 7 is horrid, throw to the left of the fairway and your in the water, throw in the fairway your in mud. Its extremely slippery going up the steps. On hole 10, the creek is running fast, so try not to throw your disc in there cuz she might not be there by the time you get down there. Hole 12, almost entirely under water, fairway and the brush. Unless you can throw distance, its most likely going to be wet. Hole 14 is still a bit wet, 15 is basically island hopping. Its almost entirely under water. And lastly hole 18 stay on the fairway or stay to the slight right and you'll be ok, anything else and your going swimming or muddin..

alrighty Freeland Friends, Wednesday, March 11th at 5:00 pm we'll be starting the regular season of league play. Any questions can be directed to Matt Wiles, a friend in this group and the new guy that will be at Tittabawasee Park every Wednesday to oversee the registration and evening play. Thanks Matt for stepping up and running the show this year. You may have noticed that this year the meeting day has switched from Thursday to Wednesday. This was done to accommodate a few new work schedules and also because Freeland Parks often have concerts on Wednesday nights allowing for a good musical backdrop to a round of disc golf. The Midland League Night will now be Thursday (but not starting up just yet). Weather allowing, Pinconning League may start within a couple of weeks, notices will follow for Pinny and Midland. And any day now there' will be a new Stevens on the planet, starting a dad and son disc golf duo that will be feared for years to come. Hey Jason, let us know when the baby comes.

02-15-2009 - next time you see Tom S., give him a HIGH FIVE. He pulled in late Sunday but because he's Tom and because he evened up the numbers, we waited. He drew "first up" so we said, are you warmed up enough to play ?" - he replied "I'm as warm as I'm going to get." He surveyed the fairway, the mando and the let loose with a shot that looked like the right line but a little long. We all heard it hit ground and then CHING, it skipped in for a beautiful ace. way to go Tom - and here's the remaining story/ He hit metal again on #10 and just missed an ace by inches on #11.
