The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Ever since the redesign of the PDGA website, I've found that using the Discussion board is painfully slow. Is it the extra time for the ads to load? Did they upgrade their hardware to match the new software demands? Anyone have any info on this?

Jimmy, I've all but given up on that operation down there. You'd think that with an organization like they have and the following they had, they would work more diligently to maintain their image. I am beginning to get a feeling of arrogance from those guys.
Now big Jim, you know that they truely care about our concerns and wants as a membership. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted over on the TDSA thread and tried to encourage more people to come over here. If you think we are the only ones upset over this, then take a look at some of the new slogans other members have come up with.

The PDGA: We're ready to ignore you.

The PDGA: Become an affiliate club member and save $5 on your renewal, but we'll charge you $3 to do it online.

The PDGA: Still pushing a magazine.

The PDGA: It's still 1975 here!

The PDGA: Creating the illusion of corporate acceptance & sponsorship with our new banner ads.

The PDGA: Still run by five guys living in our parents basement.

The PDGA: 33% of our members are actually members!

PDGA - Making the Discussion board slower and slower every day

PDGA - Producing Dismally Gainful Aspirations

The PDGA: 420 reasons to join.

PDGA: Ads on the homepage are now a member benefit.
I hear you, JimmyG. I gave up on the PDGA message board months ago. Anytime you question them they will either ignore you or give you an unsatisfactory answer. As a paying member it's not appropriate for them to treat us this way. I figure why even bother, so now I browse discgolfersr.us instead. This website functions well and never goes down. Until we get new leadership in the PDGA things will only get worse not better. Until things get better I'm not wasting my time at pdga.com.
Agreed. Just like when I asked for a clarification of a rule and they told me they could see it called both ways? This from our parent org, totaly unacceptable.
not my favorite place to hang out I just go there to keep up on the people who do not post here, yes the board is slowing down even with fewer useres
Why not made the tulsadiscsports.org link to the discussion board lead here instead of pdga DISCussion board? Since everyone seems to be double posting anything of importance, I will plan to just visit here from now on if I want to keep up with what's happenin'.
...maybe there should be two links at the tulsadiscsports.org link...

...one to the TDSA DISCussion Board at the PDGA website
...and one to the Tulsa Disc Sports Association TDSA discussion board/Club page here at DGrsRus...
contact Steve Ward the Webmaster at TDSA for changes to main TDSA club website.
I too have had problems since the so-called "update". I try and go on to follow whats happening but its just too slow for me. I've had it with that board. I just wish someone would pull their head out and fix it. Totally unacceptable!!
i run mac safari, i only have a slight delay. i can deal with the ads on the main page, but they should leave them off the disc page. but everybody wants to sell you something. i would like to see them get the post time fixed....".technology, aint it wonderful " i think somebody famous said that!!!
Seems like the post time is getting a little better lately. Thanks to whomever had something to do with it.
Has anyone noticed that the post times are off by 8 hours from the Main Index/Topics/Club levels to the discussion levels at PDGA? ...and, yes I was logged in...when you are not logged there is still an 8 hour difference (minus a couple of hours as well due to server time not being central time)...
