The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have only been playing for a year, but when I first started out I bought a 174 Cyclone, tie-dye of course, and played boggy golf for most of the year. Everyone said it was too heavy for me but i loved that disc. Fate stepped in and I lost it in the lake at La Marada. So I bought a 171 Leopard and that became my go to disc.Used it for everything but was still not getting pars, or birdies. Then a very wise friend of mine bought me a 150 star Sidewinder.Said try this. That has been the best single thing that has improved my game, I started getting pars and occasional birdies. My drives have gotten longer and more controlable to where I wanted it to go. My arm doesn't hurt like it did at 174, which no pain is always a perk. So my question is how, and why, did you get to where you are today?

My first driver was a black Cyclone that I bought used off the back of John Ahart's truck in Long Beach 1984. I used cyclones, cyclone 2, x2, and so on as I developed more power. Now I am all about the Pro Destroyer, I like the dome on it compared to the star versions I have used.
my first driver was probably a valk, somthing I instantly got full flights off of with the heizer release then the turn over and then come back and finish heiezer, and I still favor that sort of throw, like my fav. the beast or a nice sidewinder, although I love crushing the boss and my destroyers and fresh pro wraiths, the old blended swirl champion orc's my in between
A 150 valk and then a 150 cheetah. My now fiancee bought me the starter set. Now I throw teebirds ( those are my fav) , wraith, destroyer and leopard.
I out grew the weight quickly and the local guys were so excited to see another chic they keep telling me to try this and that and to stick with what I liked and so I did.
