We have set a work day for the course to address several issues that have been discussed recently.
Anyone wanted to help is more than welcome to come out.
As you know, the contractor will begin installation of the cement teeboxes in the upcoming weeks. This means that we need to remove the railroad ties that are currently in place. We will use them for bridges on holes 1, 3, and 9.
After we have removed them from their current location, we will need to cut the weeds that have grown up around them so a mower or weedeater will be needed.
We will also need shovels and maybe a pick-axe to dig seating for the bridges and a sledge hammer or two to secure them after we've put them in place.
We also need to dig out the holes from the teesigns on holes 4and 18 and replant the signs so we'll need water to pack them in. If that doesn't work, we'll have them cemented when the teeboxes go in.
We will inspect the welds the city put on the remaining baskets and if needed, we will add additional welds to them. We have a welder but will do the work in the parking area so as not to start a grass fire. We will have to transfer the baskets back and forth for that work to be done.
If we have time, we will look at branch trimming and or base trimming around some trees but would like to leave most of that as is.
All suggestions are welcome and help is needed if you can make it out. That's alot to do but if we get enough people out we should be able to get the majority done.
We have the July 4th Fundraiser coming up and it's turning out to be very nice as far as prizes that are coming in so hopefully our attendence will be good and we can replace those baskets and get some cement poured. And just when you thought this course couldn't get any nicer.

I figured you guys were going to play your normal round, we'll get started while you're playing and then whenever you finish, just come find us and we'll see where we are on the list.
Any help is better than no help. I'm gonna call Barry and ask him to mention it at the mini on Sat morning so don't let him forget.
word... i will remind him to mention it before we start if he forgets...
We could use the railroad ties to mark out championship tee box spots. It would be nice to have another box to throw from.
We managed to get quite a bit accomplished yesterday.
All of the rairoad ties were removed and the teeboxes scraped so they are ready for cement.
We built a foot bridge across the creek on hole three but due to the heat we didn't get the bridge on nine built. We are unsure if we're still going to build one on hole one.
We welded all of the baskets making them virtually impossible to steal. They are really gonna have to work hard to get anymore. I did notice another basket that had the bolt removed on the bottom like the two that were stolen, however that was after the city put a tack weld on it so maybe that foiled an attempt to steal another. Now, however it's not just a little tack weld here and there. Now, the WDGC can concetrate on improvements rather than replacements.
I would like to personally thank everyone for their help, it was friggin hot and I'm glad you helped, so Thank you.
you guys gonna be out there any this week for prep for the weekend? i will try to get out there and give a hand this week, if you guys are... apologies for yesterday, had to get home and take care of the family and some stuff still for this weekend... let me know.. i can squeeze a few hours in this week more than likely
I think we are planning a prep but it'll probably be at Rody's house, about a half mile from the course. Maybe build the bridge on hole nine on Friday and the teebox barrier on twelve. Not sure yet.
I will be at the course on Friday to brush and paint the welds, build the bridge on nine, maybe the bridge on eight too if I have enough energy and or help. If anyone wants to join me, I could use your help.
I would love to help, but I have to work this Friday. My Company scheduled Monday the 6th as the holiday (stupid !!!). Do you want to get together early Friday evening to discuss the CTP's and anything else for Saturday.
Hey, if you can get in touch with Mikey, he said he would like to help out with course work.
same with me dave, the woman works tomorrow and i have the kids for the better portion of the day... also have a friend and his son coming in from houston tonight...wish i could help out with the last minute things that we need to get wrapped up, prior obligations tho... bleh... need more time and less priorities...
Ok, I just spoke with Toby and he's going to meet me out there to brush and paint the welds, maybe build a bridge or two.

BUT, SUNDAY, IT'S ON. We have to get the elevated teebox done on hole twelve. Or, if not, it will sit where it is when the pour cement on Monday. Oh, and we also need to mark the Teeboxes with paint and flags because the contractor will be there on Monday morning.

How do you like the thought of teeing off of cement on Wednesday???????
