I've had a few people offer to buy one of my discs off of me or pay me to dye a disc for them. I'm not willing to sell any of mine because i play with all of them. i'd totally dye one for someone though, but i have no idea what to charge. assuming they provide the disc the cost of the dye and contact paper is at most $0.50. should the price vary on the complexity of the design, number of colors, etc.? what do people find is a fair price?

Im in canada so my prices vary a bit, but i charge $30 and up for custom work like you said it depends on the number of colors, design, hand cut or done on a plotter. ...also you have to cover the cost of the plastic your dying if you bought it.

Do up a few and raffle them off at your next clubs tourney. good way to get your stuff seen and help your club out with a little bit more scratch. Im doing up some for the OD Tour here in Ontario, All the money raised from the raffles is going to the big arm contest at Event # 4 which is Discstock. I am also doing a demo on how to dye discs there, should be a lot of fun.

Keep on dying!
I charge $20 for star plastic with a dye on it. I am not in the business to make money, just get my art out there. I enjoy doing them for people. Now if it s a special request and multi colors or a hard piece of art, maybe $20 and they provide the disc. I even trade mine away on Discaroo.com just for regular trades.
If people give me a disc, I want 15 euro's(about $20.00), but if it is an easy design or maybe just some words, I go half of that.
But I also give a lot away to my friends and I make discs for my sponsor, who will sell them at big tournaments(and then he gives me some money).
I also make some for a friend who just opened a dg shop in Berlin but am not sure yet what to charge...
First person to pay my entry fee for the tournament, gets the disc.
