What is the best mixture for Spin dying discs?

 

I have heard several the best I have seen is:

 

A whole bottle of Liquid RIT dye and liquid Dawn to your prefered thickness...

 

also I used Power RIT, Liquid RIT, heated up ad a touch of acitone but it was too thin...

 

please help..

mix the rit powder with liquid dish soap... add a little acetone to help it set (not sure the acetone is essential, and it will thin the mixture a bit). Cook the disc after you spin it (your drive way on a sunny day should be sufficient).

I use "sodium alginate" to thicken the dye. You can find it online on Amazon or at the Dharma Trading Co.

If you try it mix your sodium alginate in water, and only a use a small amount to start with until you learn how to mix it. It goes  long ways!!! Mix it up good and let it set over night, if you are using power dye mix it with a little water and let it set for a short time. You can make it as thick as you want!
