The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I heard a rumor that Dave Feldberg was going to make the Alton Baker Disc Golf Course happen, so I was wondering if anyone knew the real scoop on this. I've been a part of the process of Cottage Grove, and it has been a great experience to see all the people who want to see this area's disc golf grow and have the golfing community come together for a common goal. I hope I can be part of the Alton Baker, or any other, project in this area to get new courses built. The more the merrier, maybe we can give Portland a run for their money some day. Someone like Dave could be a great influence on this!!

Here's a map of my proposed course!!

Hey Tab. There is something in the works for Alton Baker. Dave Battaglia from the City of Eugene Parks and Rec is working on a proposal. Dave Feldberg may be involved but I haven't heard he was or is. The idea is to create a pay to play course with a course concession stand to take payments, sell discs, and other disc related stuff. The concessionaire would be responsible for course upkeep, rules adherence, and other things. In addition they would have to make a big time commitment to be at Alton Baker or make sure someone was 7 days a week. It would be a business and that would be your job. Dave B. wants to put the concession out for bid if this thing is approved. The course itself would have to stay away from the MAD garden and the Cuthbert area. Dave B. has a course design already, somewhat similar to the one Andrew used this summer for the EVO, but avoiding the Cuthbert and garden and using some other areas closer to the boat landing. I haven't walked it with Dave B. but Jimmy J. from the EDGC has and says it would be a fun course to play. I hope this pans out. It'd be great to have a new course in Eugene.
Thanks Bob for the response. I put together this design using Andrew Rich's temp layout, but I would like to get with Dave and Jimmy to be apart of this. Let me know how I could help. I do have experience with course design, and PDGA rules and course design suggestions. I think it would be nice to have a PDGA course in our area to have some nice tourneys. I like the idea of the concession stand and upkeep of the course, and I would do what I could to help!!
