Hey club members here is the latest!

Bryan,
I am very glad to send you a photo of the possible back nine holes for Winchester City Park DGC. This is only one of several possible ideas of what could be done to enlarge the course to an 18 hole configuration. There are concerns in regard to the existing nine holes that are now in place on the course. One main concern is the chain basket target for hole 5 was destroyed in a mowing accident some time ago and is still missing. Another concern is the disrepair of some of the concrete tee pads for a few holes are unsafe and potentially dangerous due to large cracks and broken off pieces. Teeing off from these areas is not safe especially for beginner and novice players.
The local disc golf club and its members know many things that can be easily done to better course. We are looking forward to helping in anyway we can to be of service to the Winchester Recreation Department.
It's my hope that our club and it's members can help achieve what's best for the disc golf course to make it safe, exciting and fun for visitors of the park and our community.

Discfully Yours,

Jason Davis

Hey club members here is a letter I sent to the Receration Department to let them know we're here.
Dear Recreation Department,
I would like to say thanks for all that has been done for our parks in Winchester and for Frisbee golf in the city park. The recent replacement of baskets and tee sings have been greatly appreciated. When I tell people that the the inventor of the Wamo Frisbee Ed Hendrick's son helped design the course years ago during the parks inception I always hear how historical and meaningful the course is.

I live here in Franklin County and have watched the sport grow all around us and across the United States. Tennessee has over forty courses listed with the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) international course directory including our course here in Winchester. People visit our park to play the course from all over the United States when traveling through the area. Shellbyville has just opened a new 18 hole disc golf at their H.G.Griffen Community Center course this summer. Disc Golf is the fastest growing alternative sport in the world and was introduced into the World Games in Japan in 2000. The World Games are a prerequisite to being recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

I would like to increase disc golf awareness in the Winchester City Park. Like most all disc golfers I do my part to help keep the course clean and clear as I play golf. Whether its pick up trash or push heavy limbs up under trees out of the way to make the course easier to maintain. I have also stayed in contact with our local Hibbits Sports store through each year to help keep a supply of golf disc's for sale so that people interested in beginning the sport will be able to play and the course and enjoy the Winchester City Park. Local disc disc golfers and myself have organized a league and have weekly league and club play open to everyone every Sunday at 2pm. The course can be played year round in our park which provides recreation when a lot of the activities in the park can not.

One of the goals for golfers here has always been to expand the course from its current nine hole configuration to eighteen holes. This would increase even more interest from players here as well as those who stop to play while traveling through our area. Increased traffic in Winchester City's Recreations Parks is good for the people here and for the city of Winchester.

Below is an attached photo a possible back nine for the Winchester City Park Frisbee Golf Course.
There are several means of acquiring funds, additional equipment, labor and materials with the help and support of our local golf club. A disc golf course requires very little maintenance. I also know ways of making our current course easier to maintain.

If I or our local club may be of assistance to the Recreation Department or you have any ideas and advice for helping Winchester Chain Smokers Disc Golf Club make disc golf even better for our community please feel free to contact me or the club. Visit us on the INTERNET at http://discgolfer.ning.com/group/winchesterchainsmokers . Please join our club while your there.
Thank You for our parks.

Discfully yours,
Jason Davis

Hello Shelia,
I would like to receive some bumper stickers for my disc golf event. I'm trying to revitalize a club in my community. It would be great if you could send me about 20 stickers. I love how discgolfersr.us are helping to promote the sport of disc golf and give tournament directors a media link to reach players. I live in Middle Tennessee. I know it's April and my Tournament is not until May but the bumper stickersor other promotional materials will help to would our club grow. My address is Jason Davis, 202 2nd Avenue Nth, Decherd,TN. 37324. Here below are the sites listing my event.
