I apreciate everyone's excitement in partaking in the adventure of the "Brotherhood of the Traveling Disc".

Please remain patient. It takes time for everyone to find the time to play and to mail "Dad" off.

He has done more traveling than I could have imagined.

DAD is in San Diego , California for a couple of weeks , then he is off to Hawaii !!!

I had several great rounds traveling around with dad hitting all my favorite courses. I would have liked to have done more, but work and several other family obligations took time away from discin. I had hoped to play my dads first round of disc golf with him and take the disc along, but I took ill and iit killed that plan.

 

Courses played:

 

La mirada DGC      10 rounds

Oak Grove              1 round

El Dorado               2 rounds

Twila Reid             4 rounds

Huntington Beach  2 rounds

 

I had a good time with Dad and shared his story with everyone that would listen. Dads legacy lives on with disc golfers all over Southern California. It did this old Irishmans heart good to have Vic Sr. around on my rounds.

 

Dad is off to San Diego to spend some time with the Legend Donny O.

It was a nice sunny day at La Mirada for another round with dad. Took this pic above hole 17 lakeside, a great place to give dad a fly, and one of my favorite spots on my home course.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dad got a nice park job on 17a. A nice nice smooth pull gets him there everytime. Dad has a new scuff on the flight plate where he hit the underside of the basket. I thought for sure it was an ace run, would have been special. It was a good day with Vic.

Dad and I took off before sunrise this morning to play Oak Grove in Pasadena Ca. Oak Grove is the 1st permanent disc golf course in the world. We took a trip over to El Dorado DGC in Long Beach for another round later in the day.

 

The trip to Oak Grove was memorable. It was nice to take dad to where disc golf got its start. The light was low and couldn't get any nice pics, sorry. OG has a ton of low ceiling shots through tons of iron leafed California white oak trees. Dad must have been a lumber jack in a previous life because he sure new his way through the trees. I nice steady smooth pull would get a nice late fade everytime.

 

At El Dorado the wind was up. Since dad is a little on the understable side I had too pick and choose where I could fly him. Hole 13 was a great chance to give him a launch since the hole required a nice long turnover. Thanks for the birdie Vic.

Dad and I headed out this morning for a couple of rounds with the boys at La Mirada DGC. I was a great day for disc golf, not a lot of wind and only slightly overcast.

 

At the first tee I got to share the story of Vic Sr. with a group of the locals. They love the idea, and we all took turns during the round giving dad a nice flight.

Illness and life have taken up much time lately, but I have had severall wonderful rounds with the disc.

Vic Sr. has arrived. I found him sitting in my easy chair when I got back from the Green Valley Ams this past weekend. He is in great shape for the miles he flown (Hehehe). Him and I are headed to Huntington Beach this weekend for a Dawn Patrol round with a few DGRUS guys and then over to El Dorado in Long Beach for a late moring round. We'll hit La Mirada (My home course), and Oak Grove (The original course) the following week. Then off to Donny in San Diego.
