Share '2008 USDGC "thrower" champion roc'

question for you guys... was the 08 "thrower" stamp the "thrower" disc sold in 08? from my research, it seems USDGC started to release large runs of thrower champions for the masses to purchase. is that correct? what were the other 'thrower' stamps from past years? thanks in advance.
