Share 'Ratings Question'

I played my first tournament ever a couple weeks ago at a local course. The club that hosts the event has posted my ratings for the 27 hole round. They have given me a player rating of 897. I played in the novice division and my score was on par with the only other guy in novice. I noticed that my score was better than about half of the intermediate players and a few of the open guys.
