my third dye... a three-stage dip, to get black and two shades of grey. turned out awesomely well.

this is my favorite disk - a roc, and the ninja turtle just seemed to fit - as this is also my choice "sneak-attack" disk.

here's a pic of the original page from TMNT#1

thanks for the heads up, i'll look at the club.

i agree with you 100% about the TMNT feel... the new digitally animated movie came closer to capturing that than anything i've seen since the first books, but even that was lacking.

when i do the rest of the series on discs, all the imagery will come from the early books.

after that, usagi yojimbo... and GROO! :)

I have a second printing of #1, and a 1st printing of #2, among others. I liked the darkness those comics had versus the kid friendly ones that destroyed them forever. Their comeback has been nice, but it's not what it used to be.

You should join the Nerd Herd Club, you'd fit in!

this actually came directly from TMNT #1... and has been one of those images that has stuck with me since i first read the book when i was a kid. so, it was the first that popped into my head when i thought of doing this disc, and luckily i still have my TMNT #1... so, i scanned the page and worked with it in photshop for a day or two to get it right.

I love how you captured the old school feel of the original black and white comic

i was planning on doing all four turtles, one disc each, then the shredder, master splinter, and a foot soldier disc... so we'll see. as of right now, i have this pattern on two other discs... i just need to cut them, and dye the discs.

the whole process took about 8 hours start-to-finish, and is done entirely by hand (no automated cutter), so they wouldn't be cheap.

i'll post the other discs as i have time to do them.

I love this disc! I'd like a Michaelangelo if you've got one. How much?
