2008 Evansville Open :

To All,

We had amazing feedback from everyone about Mesker Park's Disc Golf Course and the Evansville Open. Most people thought the course was going to be a sloppy mess after the torrential rain we have experienced lately, but to their surprise the course was in great shape. What we heard over and over was how well this course drains water. Definitely a bonus for outdoor activities. Everybody I talked to about the course said they liked it and would be back in the future!

A few Thank You's

I want to thank all of the people that helped make this event possible. PDGA, Evansville Parks and Rec, Evansville convention and visitor's bureau, Marie Colucci, and All of the Ace Eagle Disc Golf Club.
A special Thanks to the volunteers who helped pick up and clean the course. Good Work!

I would also like to thank Josh Drury, Alex Beane and JD Hazel for the CTP Donations.

Last but not least, THANK YOU to the Players who attended!
Especially all of the players who came from out of town.
People came from Indianapolis, Cincinnati,Oh, Bowling Green,Ky, Paducah,Ky, Springfield,Ill. and other areas.
There were 58 players in all.

The open Division had a Whopping 18 entrants!
Jesse Ried took home a nice paycheck with a come from behind win in the
final 5 holes over Matthew Blakely. It was a very close battle the whole day between these two world class pro's.

The Adv. Masters division was won by Tony Henson of Fordsville,Ky.
He led all day long and held off strong home town contention.

The Advanced div. was won by Springfield, Illinois' own Kent Schafer.
Chad Herrod from Cincinnati came in 2nd, but was not heart broken because
he hit the only Hole in One of the day giving him the $82.00 Ace Pool.

Damian Bosley from Lexington, Ky won the Intermediate div. He played solid all day leading that division both rounds.

John Short brought home top honors in the Rec division with a come from behind run. The winner of the Rec. division was not decided until the final holes. I'm sure it was exciting for these guy's.
