Partizan Puttistan rules!

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

They call me "The Snake"

Some of my friends came up with the name "snake eye" many years ago, obviously inspired by my putting style. Here's a short video my friend Michael produced recently. It features the Austro Hungaro tour event in Retz, Austria. The tournament location is a former stone pit, apparently the best place for snakes. Enjoy!

The original "snake eyes":
"Dustin Hoffman’s character Jack Crabb has a wandering life and eventually meets up with his long lost sister. Caroline ain’t no sissy… Continue

This can happen when you drive too hard

I just didn't really find out why this disc is called "destroyer". Anyway, the tree survived and so did the disc. ;)

Ace #5

Last Friday I threw my fifth ace. We played a practice round during the preparations for the first Austro-Hungaro tournament in Pichl. The tees were already set up, and so were the baskets. I hit the tree behind the basket (the natural target for this hole when not played in tournament setup). The disc bounced back and landed right in the basket. BTW this was my second hole in one on this hole (first one shot back in 2005. That time we used the tree as natural target).… Continue

I did it

Dear Blog!
I did it today! I threw my new champion Destroyer for the first time. To be honest, I can see not much difference between the champion Wraith and the Destroyer at this early stage of testing. But I have to admit that I'm not able to throw the discs at full speed yet. Every throw hurts a bit due to my injured rib, but I'm very happy that I'm able to throw at all. We played a nice practice round using two mobile baskets. And it was very funny although the weather was still cold and wind… Continue

Bis dahin - Keep the Disc Golf Heat, cheers Alessa :)

Hi Bernd, we will send details on payment by e-mail, and add a web page soon. I am still getting the hang of the new software for editing the site, and will be working with Jon Lee (guy who made the site) when he is back from holiday this week. Glad you can make it.

Remember that when you're getting that nose up slightly you can huck it harder than feels safe to avoid turning it over. Should help. Hope it all works out, best of luck.

Figured I'd take the conversation off of the blog and to comments...

Nice, I came from Ultimate as well. Three years ago I asked for a few UltraStars for my 20th birthday, my parents got me disc golf discs. I was VERY angry haha, but it looks like it worked out for the best.

But yeah, when I throw I feel like it is a similar principle to air-bounce when I throw for distance. Think about it: You can throw an UltraStar harder on an air bounce without it going over on you. Same principle with a disc golf driver. But the nose up is slight so the air bounce isn't completely noticeable.
